all bullshitting and arguing aside.. it's nice to see Prince's albums (even the unloved ones) be pressed onto vinyl as they were released on cd.
I think he has too much unreleased studio and live stuff to have records made for die hard fans. The digital and or compact disc route makes much more sense. However, when the vault material IS released, I would buy a record store day exclusive copy of a vault material or live show release.

Im sure most of us have the original pressings of everything up to Rave and a few others after that are still available easily in shops. So that release in particular isn't all that special except for having Rave Into on wax to fit in the collection. I don't care what color the record is, it is just nice to have them on a format that I enjoy and is worth more package, sound, art wise than a regular cd or mp3/flac digital copy.

I actually dug out my original pressing of Rave Unto to give it a listen since its the most neglected album of his, by me. It is a great album and people will enjoy it like every other Prince record. Actually, the push of material post WB to new fans and old is bloody great. More people will understand why he was brilliant. New or old, the quality of his music never lacked and a bad Prince album is worth a thousand great albums from others.

I massively agree with you!!!!!

I've been listening to Rave Un2 and In2 this week in the gym everyday.

I've not listened to this for probably well over ten years or more. It sounded amazing, both in terms of great songs and production quality. I like the collaborations. They don't seem overpowering, just a nice sprinkling of another artist here and there.

There is NOT a bad track on Rave. Undisputed has a flavour of the Diamonds and Pearls album.

The Greatest Romance is without doubt one of Prince's greatest singles. Hot Wit U is one of Prince's finest moments. Sadly cancelling the Hot Experience is one of the worse decisions ever made. If this was ever tracked with artwork, it would be amazing for this to finally get released.

I love all of the remixes for the Greatest Romance from the CDs, promos CDs, 12inch singles and promo 12inch singles - this was such a great time.

The Jason Nevins remixes are incredible!!!

When I bought the CD promo for Man O'War I remember thinking how cool the clear CD was.

I rememeber when the LP and CD arrived and thinking how beautiful the blue metalic looked.

lol lol lol

The Gold Experience and the HITnRUN albums on vinyl are the ones I’d be most eager to go out and get.

I just LOVE this album! I was SO looking forward to it's re-release that Prince(r.i.p) told Peach & Black Podcast.

Ditto. Still waiting 4 20TEN Deluxe. It was supposed to come out on Warner when he was negotiating with them about the Dirty Mind, Controversy, 1999 vinyl re-releases and PR 30th... So, it must be complete.

Bassette

Prince livestuff, like Montreux 2009, or Lovesexy 2nd June 1988, or d&p, and wait, all concerts I visited in Holland. He was such a magnificent musician and performer!

Well,... since they seem to be hell bent to get any collectable or rarity in the bargain bin at best buy... let's get it over with already and re-release...

.

* one night alone

* one night alone box set

* Goldnigga

* tales from the purple rain

* the war

* ...

.

Now, I have none of those, I missed the boat on all those when they were released...but looking for them has made record collecting fun and exciting for years. Hearing the versace experience and rave in2 the joy are being rereleased didn't do anything for me... they're turning these 'holy grails' into red solo cups.

.

to give you a serious answer: Batman - the expanded edition (with 'dance with the devil') because I'm very curious to hear demo's and outtakes to get a picture of the creative proces that led to that album.

It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

Please keep WB material out of this, this thread is asking a specific question. So far the NPG releases also seem out of the Legacy deal but who knows what is included exactly, it's possible that they keep some side projects for later after an initial focus on the "Prince" releases.

.

Since I'm here I'll reply by saying I don't really care since I have all that stuff and I don't collect physical objects, but for the sake of Prince's legacy I'm always happy to see some material enjoying a rerelease. If I ever have a permanent home again there are a few LP's I'd like to purchase for display, just because I dig the covers, such as Rave or Mplsound. But that won't be anytime soon.
