Huh, I told you Sony didn't have the rights to those albums at that time!! He just died, there was no sony deal!! It was going to be a deal with universal but when they realized they wouldn't have access to the vaults until 2021 they decided to withdraw the deal.

I think he's talking about the fact that those albums were originally published by Sony. However, it was just a limited time-span publishing deal and Prince still owned the rights to them.

Musicology was published by Columbia.

3121 by Universal.

Hello, whereas some CD pressings of Musicology in some countries had an enhanced track with the Musicology video - none of the new 2019 reissues have an enhanced track.

Hope this helps.

I will only buy them when they are are (nearly) for free,

which will soon be the case... in second hand stores.

-

Same with the rereleased 12" versions.

I bought them all in pristine quality for EURO 0.75 (and EURO 1.00) each,

still wrapped in plastic.

-

Honestly, I couldn't care less for these soulless legacy releases.

No more soulless than the original releases... which, er, is what these are re-releases of... so... this is awkward.

Actually, the vinyl editions are far LESS soulless than the original (CD only) editions, as these albums now sonically sound the best they ever have, without the brickwalling that plagued them originally.
