that's right, it's a non-proselytizing relgion, wish some of the other sects were that way. The last thing Jews wanted as a persecuted group was attention.

I'm curious how your scale works. Those ratings are extremely precise.

There’s no such thing as Jewish evangelism!

Sorry I am a Roman Catholic not Jewish or Muslim. I used that line as a reference of 180 degree extremes, meaning that Batman is about the greatest 80s Prince album, yet in reality it is the very and absolute worst by a massive long shot.

.

I used the Jews and Muslims reference as I know how much they hate each others guts. The news here is full of Israel and the Middle east at each others throats. Personally I am on Israel's side as they are an oasis of civilisation and human rights in an area breeding with intolerance from that other religion. Being gay, I would be welcomed in Israel but stoned to death in any adjacent country.

I got plenty good loving for ya baby

SoulAlive

I enjoy the album alot.Love the songs "The Future","Batdance"."Partyman" and I even like "The Arms Of Orion" biggrin I don't know if I'd consider it one of his best 80s albums but I still give it a spin every once in a while.

Oddly enough, Howard Stern started the show this morning by ranting about how "Batman" is a classic, and that it makes him crazy that people don't understand how brilliant it is.

.

They played bits of "The Future", "Vicki Waiting", and "Batdance". Howard particularly loves the abrupt change in the middle of "Batdance", with "Stop the press!" and "Vicki Vale...". (So do I... I think that segue/shift is brilliant.)

.

So... a reference to the album in 2018! Not bad.

some people have said that but I go with what i like, much of the album sounded thrown together, which it must have been because word was he made it in a week or something. I've heard of Elton John making albums in short periods but I don't see how. With nothing worked out beforehand? hell no, i have a hard time believing it. Some of the songs were prophetic and deep, some of his lyrics were amongst his most profound but to put it over albums like Purple Rain? No, just no.

It's my least favorite 80s album. I even prefer Prince's 70s albums over Batman.

my least favorite would probably be dirty mind or lovesexy, never really was crazy about them. Lovesexy, if I haven't listened for awhile is still a great listen, Dirty Mind just had no songs outside of When You Were Mine, there was a reason past the shock tactics that it almost got prince booted off wb inspite of rave reviews, it just wasn't that good. Batman was better than those and I'd also say that it was the first album where Prince was really coming into his own as a soul balladeer writer, the "slow jams" that he claimed people wrote off really got there start here (I know, I know, do me baby, adore, great tunes but not really soulful, too quirky).
