As a white person, I cannot imagine what people of color go through just to get through the day. I go any place I want to, I never fear being stopped by police (unless I am speeding), and I most certainly don't have to watch my back 24/7. What Prince went through - racially - we shall never know. I cannot even be sure that, after he was famous, that he didn't endure discrimination. But I have felt his trauma stemmed from his parents and his childhood and that informed his actions for his entire life.

I'm a PoC too and I go any place I want to, never fear being stopped by the police(unless I'm speeding) so far 3 times and ran a red light by mistake, but never got a dig on my license. Last stop for speeding was on Easter 2018, going 15-20 over, he didn't give me a ticket at all.

and I don't have to watch my back 24/7.

I do say though that women, no matter where have to always be more careful.

but that bold part there...truth. And I think we all can relate whether from a small degree to larger than Prince how families can jag us our whole lives.

you're probably a woman, women of all races tend to get into doors that block many men. either because no one physically fears them or a man wants to get into their pants. I see this dynamic with my own folks, the women are all bitchy because the men do nothing but drink and lay around but they don't see that there is a caste system in place up where they are, the only jobs available are jobs like dishwashing or digging ditches for Indians, with indian women? come on in, yea, you can have a job especially if you're attractive. Lots of women don't want to hear that but it's true.

Men do things to bar other men from all kinds of places and are super competitive with each other. I'm light skinned myself and softspoken so I rarely have issues with going to restaurants but my best friend who is big, black and loud, i've seen fear in white people's faces many times hanging out with him and he 's just being himself, he's not violent or dangerous. As far as historical trauma, a lot of the physical abuse comes from european child rearing and slavery, neither Indians or africans beat their kids that i'm aware of before the european, then all the psychological shit that a kid picks up on just being around a parent who either lived through harder times and/or picked it up from their parents. I'm paranoid and suspicious as hell and i know a lot of it came from just being around my dad, you know how kids are absorbant as sponges? well, doesn't take long to shape a lifelong personality at a young age and I did, I'm standoffish, don't talk to people I don't know, suspicious of those I do. part of that is a tribal mindset which is "we only talk to members of our small band all others are dangerous and not really people" funnelled through the actual trauma and pure humiliation we got from the european. and that's not to even get started on the insane amount of crazy things that I've been through, just for being a little different in my manner, people see you're powerless they shit on you then they say it was because you were wierd so you have to take the crucifix for their need to shit on someone. It's ok, when you know who you are, you can handle pretty much anything. but, not everyone can.

i've probably done more research than you have on the disciplining, i've lived it too, we didn't beat our kids, now that is not monolithic, but it was most usual. I'm not talking about any of the strange rituals that have gone on in tribal societies, i'm talking about physical discipline, we didn't do it and in watching anthroplogy videos on some african tribal societies, they were the same. And, you don't sound like a threatening type of guy or..., someone who might appear threatening, I don't either, i usually don't have the issues my black buddies do, sometimes but not too much. the one thing though that is common with white people and weak people of other races is, they will blame other peoples reactions all on you. I don't even like my black friends around me in some places quite honestly because I don't want the extra attention, I don't need or want people coming around and hovering which is what they do when i got a black dude around, the shit aint a myth. have you seen the recent video of that drunk lady trying to stop a black dude getting into his own apt.? thank god we have cameras today because that kind of insanity would never be questioned in older times, it's all "he misunderstood me, I was just...." bullshit.

I feel hurt and betrayed that he lied to us about his addiction and intimate relationships with women I went to PP on Sunday. I understand that he had to lie about so much of what he was doing because he would have been disassociated from the Jehovah Witnesses organization. But does anyone know when was the last time he visited a Kingdom Hall? Also is there a transcript of the interview that the police had with Larry Graham?

So is this thread resolved?

I just skimmed it on my phone. I hope you didn't try to show me an essay on modern colonized Africans if you did I don't even know what to say other than today native Americans are among the worst abusers today. If you can't deduce anything from that, you're right to not say more. I'll look at it a bi closer later

Well, after seeing these numbers, I simply think Prince's passing due to these 'drugs'is a sign of the times.

FWIW: I guess the opioid problem is bigger now than the crack cocaine thing was in the 80's.

Prince was stupid enough to fall for this.

It was no incident, simply an expression of what and who he was.

If this was a surprise then you probably did not pay enough attention.

And no, I did not say I saw this coming or whatever.

I simply noticed some flaws.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

like what? I noticed he looked old on the Arsenio show but I just wrote it off to his age, he was old. 55 or whatever is old. the songs on AOA had me worried but other than that, nothing that made me think his death was imminent. I still say it's bizarre how I felt crazy as fuck on the 20th, i've always had some kind of premonition before some people die, the lates one was Paul Allen, I was just thinking of him on Sunday, how he helped Jimi's family get their legacy back, so, nothing like, he's gonna die but often, when i think of someone out of the blue like that, i start wondering if it means they'll die, it's happened so many times before.

- His websites (not lasting long enough)

- The way he ran his shows in the last 15+ years of his career

- The way he chose his b-sides in the later part of the career

- etc, etc, etc (you must have similar observations unless you are on opioids)

stop preaching from that hi horse and just look it over when you get a chance lol

but the 'not say anymore' is about the conversation not being PMM discussion, but going into P&R
