Let’s Go Crazy is used for sporting events so is it a big deal? Capital One is my bank. I think there are worse companies that could get his music.

eek You mean you aren't gonna cut your credit card into tiny plastic shreds like some others are doing? lol lol

I’m just happy to hear Prince songs on TV in 2018 although I think of Prince dying in the elevator whenever I hear Let’s Go Crazy now. sad

I'm not seeing the big deal. This helps to broaden awareness of the man and his work somewhat. Besides, the song was a #1 hit.

Capital One cancelled my account a couple months ago because I had no balance and hadn't used it in 15-20 years. (They kept sending me replacement cards every couple years and I never activated them.) Problem solved. lol

I do not like it but I am not going to cut up my cards. As long as push it up is not used for Tampons I am okay.

Good Lord it is not selling out. lol It is staying relevant for many decades to come. Bills/taxes have to be paid and plus this is a way to reach the younger audience who the estate hope can also persuade to buy his music and maybe continue to support his other work as Prince's core fans are aging and dying off. It is important now more than ever to keep P's legacy alive. I remembered a few weeks ago I was riding with an 11-year-old boy in a medical transportation vehicle and Michael Jackson song came on the radio. He knew the song and even told the driver to turn it up because he loved MJ. I said I was a Prince fan than an MJ fan and he didn't know who Prince was. This boy was like 3 years old when MJ passed and it so amazing how he idolized him a person who was more prominent before he was born.

My point is Michael estate isn't perfect but they are doing their job to keep his legacy alive that even babies who were born after MJ's death know his music.

I don’t understand y’all
You do know the estate has bills to pay they can’t just go out and play a show like Prince. I can understand if it was one of his deeper songs
Prince put this body of work out there so it could be worth something when he’s gone. If they don’t get revenue we don’t get Paisley Park or possibly any releases.

You are absolutely right. At first I was perplexed to hear his music on a commercial, but reading this makes absolute sense. Thanks.

I honestly don't know how to feel about this. I mean, I know I don't like that they used his song for a commercial, but then again... wink

Who cares about MJ. He was always a sell out. Pepsi and anyone else that would pay.

Not that that’s a bad thing. That’s what made him the king of pop. He was making money.

Better prepare yourself for it, my friend. It will happen eventually as it's one of his more popular songs.

I just saw one with Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance with Somebody. It's definitely a theme here.

I think that’s as good as they can do with Prince lyrics. They are not the most family frindly jiggle material available. lol

I noticed that they're using three deceased artists' music for these commercials.....

I have absolutely no issue with Prince music being used in commercials or in any other mechanicals, but it has to work!

I expected this commercial to be interesting but it wasn't. The use of Let's Go Crazy didn't work. It didn't seem appropriate.

I wish posthumous uses of Prince's image and music was done in interesting and creative ways but it just isn't.
