^^^ Thank you Kares and Cat for those lenghty replies. That was super interesting to read hug

I want to thank Kares and Cat, too, for their stories. They're testaments to what a powerful and meaningful influence music can be in people's lives.

You're very welcome. And I agree about the music. We often take it for granted now, without ever thinking about how our life would be without it and who we would be without those influences. Gives the term 'soundtrack of your life' a way deeper meaning. And I find it interesting how music can trigger memories.

No no... R&B and hip hop rule the roost here. Mainly Western music. Some South African stuff and local rumba. But mainly auto-tuned shyte from abroad.

Moved to Montreal in 2000 when I was 17, took all my Prince CD with me from Romania smile

Generally not popular in Romania, but you always find the unexpected. Like this guy I met in 1995 while on vacation at the Black Sea who just couldn't stop raving about Come...

Hardcore fan from France. I d like to point out that I m buying the albums when they are released, which is not the case for many so- called hardcore fans in France.
.
À prince album sells usually 5 to 10.000 copies here, I m sure there are more fans than that !

True: I realize the African students here in China listen to that auto-tuned shit all the time. I guess the question is more what was the state of affairs in the 80's and early 90's, when Prince was huge and the world wasn't as globalized as it is today?
