I know that you're making a joke, but there is a spiritual world of good and evil, good being God, and evil, the devil and demons. We are spiritual being, we have a soul that lives beyond our human form. Our bodies will one day die, but our soul does not, it lives on, and it will live in either heaven or hell, and which one will depend upon if you know Jesus, believe in Him, and have accepted Him into your heart, life, and soul as your Savior and as the son of God. Now, I know that there are some that know this truth and know that it's real, and some that don't believe it at all, and think that it's some sort of fairy tale, but that's between them and God. I'm a believer. I think that most know that the field of entertainment in which Prince was in, is a very evil, demonic, and dark place, and those in it are involved in all kinds of evil things. All you have to do is look at the lives of many of them, some dead, some alive, and the tragedies they've been through or going through even now, because of that lifestyle. And I know that we've all had heard of some selling their souls to satan, to gain fame and fortune. Now I don't think that you can "sell your soul to satan" because your soul belongs to God, and in the end, He'll make the final decision to where it ends up, heaven or hell, but I think that you can invite satan and all kinds of evil into your life if you try doing something like that, calling him into your life, promising to serve him if you are given fame and money in return, and I've heard of people actually doing that, especially in the entertainment business. Now whether Prince did it or not, I don't know. Some may actually do it, but then repent and ask God's forgiveness later, and whether Prince did or not, again, I don't know. What I do know, is that Prince loved God, and had a concept of God. He believe that God existed, and I think he tried to serve him. Because of that, I believe that God saved Prince's soul and that he's in the presence of God in heaven right now. That's my opinion on the whole matter.

[Edited 8/23/18 11:24am]

So in other words, you can spend your life acting, essentially, as a sexual predator (which is how you describe Prince's treatment of women in other threads), but as long he believed in Jesus, it's all good. Quick ticket to Heaven.

.

Meanwhile, people who live their lives in accordance with Jesus' alleged teachings, but don't believe that he was divine (whether through choice or ignorance), are sh** out of luck.

.

Yeah, that sounds like a believable theory for how God would call balls and strikes when judging the importance of deeds versus faith. falloff

Prince was a human being with flaws just like everyone else, he wasn't perfect, none of us are. We are all sinners who sin, and Prince was one of them. You may and will do things that are not pleasing to God, and commit sin, but if we sincerely repent of those sins and wrongdoings, and ask God to forgive us of them, then He will. God doesn't hold our past sins against us, nor does He hold grudges because of them. It's called forgiveness, and God forgives, no matter how much we may mess up. He knows that we're human with human flaws, He made us and know all about us! That's why He tells us to forgive others that has hurt or wronged us, because He forgives us. So yes, God could and would save Prince, even for his wrongdoings, if he repented of his sins and asked Jesus into his heart and soul, and yes, he would go to heaven because of that......sins forgiven.

You understand my point so well! Thank you so much! That is what I was trying to say. Selling your soul to the devil was meant to be an expression of how slowly your moral resolve erodes as you start compromising yourself more and more in exchange "for the world" ...as in when the devil comes to Jesus in the desert and tries to tempt him ...back when Prince was first starting out fame and fortune was very important to him, he was going to MAKE IT...Steve Parke said at his book signing, Prince made a lot of sacrifices and gave up a lot to get to that level of an icon, I'm just wondering at what cost...Prince's spiritual evolution has always been a big part of my attraction to him, it is a fascinating story. I'm glad you can recognize that. smile

smile You're welcome, and no thanks necessary, I get what you're saying, and it's true, especially if you're a believer of God and the word of God, and I am and do.

Sounds plausible!

You're not "obligated" to live a Christ-like life, God doesn't make you live a life for Him, you have to choose to or want to in your heart and soul, and you have to make to choice to follow Jesus and want Him in your life as your savior, and you do that by seeking a relationship with Him, praying, reading God's word (the bible), asking Him to come into your heart and soul, to be a part of your life because you want to know Him and desire to spend eternity in heaven and not hell. If you're sincere (and God knows if you're sincere or not, He's God)..then He will come into your life and save your soul. But, no, you can't "do whatever the he** you please" because there are consequences to the sin we commit and wrongdoings we do in our lives, but if we repent for the sin and wrongdoings that we've done, then yes, God will forgive us, but we just can't do anything we want to do that's wrong or sinful, because God tells us not to, in which is why there is wrong and right. God gives us rules to live by, and we should try to strive to do that, but He knows that we're human and not perfect, and that we will stumble and fall, and make mistakes, as we all do. But that's where God's mercy, grace, and forgiveness comes in, and He forgives us of those mistakes, and still loves and have mercy upon us. We may have to go through some rough patches because of our sin, but it won't destroy us, it won't destroy our souls. I hope you get what I'm trying to say.

I'm very familiar with the Evangelical perspective that you're articulating, so there's no need to keep explaining. I get it. It's also 100% contradicted by the Catholic Church (i.e., the "one true Church" according to some). Point being, it's one belief system. No need to dogmatically state it as fact, which it's not.

.

Either way though, Prince did not do the things that you claim would be necessary to get the ticket that you say he possessed.

common reaction, many people just don't believe in those kinds of things. I remember telling my piano teacher about Jimmy Swaggart praying to god to be as good as cousin Jerry Lee and overnight he was, my teacher said "and you believe that?" well, yes, i do believe it's possible, i've seen some strange shit.

As Kanye West said, "we was practicing, until one day your a** bust out the packaging."

.

I agree that Prince definitely practiced a lot.

.

Oh wait, you're talking about music... err

.

Yes, that would be a good explanation for that too! In addition, a good explanation for how someone exists who is better than 99.999% of other people at something is that out of 100,000 people, there always must be one to fill the spot as the 0.001 percentile most talented person at it.

.

As you say, sometimes the easiest explanation is the simplest and most logical one, not one involving faustian pacts with the Devil.

Believe it or not, but some actually practice satan worship and perform rituals where they do ask satan into their lives, saying they want to worship him. Do I think that Prince did that.....no I don't! But I'm sure that you have heard of certain clubs and memberships that entertainers are a part of, that are evil and have all kinds of rituals and satanic practices....I certainly have. I truly believe that the entertainment world is evil, and do all kinds of evil things, and Prince was a part of that, so I know that he knew the ins and outs, and all that happened therein. I think that he knew that the field that he was in, was not God centered. I also believe that Prince's talent was God given, and we all know that he was a dedicated, hard worker, no doubt there.

Perhaps Prince made a deal with the Devil (this would also explain the Tidal contract given it is owned by one of the top Illuminati leaders, so I've heard), but then popped in a Joel Ostein DVD on the night of the 20th, where he let Jesus into his heart?

.

That would be one way to reconcile the competing theories.

Yes, which is why I was kinda surprised Prince started living in L. A. after his divorce from Mani. I'm sure there are easily explained logistical reasons why he moved there but I thought it was very odd, considering Prince once said in an interview that you tend to reflect your surroundings and environment and that was one of the reasons he wanted to be in Minnesota. I've heard of others say LA almost has an evil, satanic bad energy, just an icky vibe, I can't really say because I've never been there. And yes there is true evil in the world and I think Prince knew this firsthand. He was very in tune with the spiritual.

But, no, you can't "do whatever the he** you please" because they're are consequences to the sin we commit and wrongdoings we do in our lives, but if we repent for the sin and wrongdoings that we've done, then yes, God will forgive us, but we just can't do anything we want to do that's wrong or sinful, because God tells us not to, in which is why there is wrong and right.

Amen!

None of it matters anyway, as a ouija board is just a Victorian-era board game and is imbued with the same spiritual significance and supernatural functionality as Monopoly.

a lot of people who;ve played around with one would tell you different. I had one, never saw anything strange but the preacher i lived with at the time correctly burned it along with my incorrectly burned records (prince, mj, ac/dc, led zeppelin, etc.., ). Also, are you sure it's "victorian"? I am not sure it's that old.

They were launched, as a parlour game, in 1890. They didn’t have any kind of association with the occult until some “spiritualists” (eg frauds) started to use them as divining tools during the First World War. Other boards had been used by such conmen in the decades leading up to the launch of the Ouija, though. They are perfectly harmless.

Yup, really nothing more to it than natural ability + dedication + hard work.

He was very in tune with the spiritual.

surprised when i heard how much time he spent out there too. i heard he also started spending the winters away from Minne. that used to be the thing he loved so something changed. Maybe he was just trying to distract himself from yet another failed marriage.

If there’s any actual evidence whatsoever that these games are anything more, I’d love to see it. I’ll not hold my breath, though. “Stories” are not evidence.

He started renting 3121 in the fall of 2004 once the Musicology tour ended. Mani was there too - this was pre-breakup. It's not surprising or unusual considering how much time he spent in Miami and LA during the 1990s. He liked the attention he got from the A-list celebrities in LA, especially after the 2004 Grammy performance sort of put him back in the spotlight. He'd also had a good experience working with AEG on the Musicology tour, so there were a lot of business opportunities in LA running through them at the time.

interesting, i don't know how some of you got so much good info on the guy, i've read everything pretty much and i never read some of this stuff. I just remember how adamant he was in the 80's and 90's about how he had no intention of moving to la or anywhere else.

Prince also positioned himself in LA to witness to celebrities usually missed by regular Jehovah's Witnesses. He was routinely handing out Watchtower publications at his 3121 parties and holding regular Bible studies.
