How is her name properly pronounced? Is it SNO A le grah? I'm amazed that Mr. Nelson somehow made a 24 hour day into 48 if he danced with Tamar, Bria, Delilah, Mani, Andy, DeMaris, Misty, Snoh, Lianne, Judith...good lord, even if he was in Olympic Quality health I don't think he could juggle this many hearts in a three-ring circus.

She said their friendship ended abruptly. Anyone know what happened? If she was performing with him in 2015, that wasn't long before he left the planet.

I think he was ill and started cutting people off.

She didn't say that. The interviewer did, referring to his sudden passing.

I dunno it seems disrespectful to Prince to assume he couldn’t have a relationship with a woman that didn’t involve sex. And I’d say the same for the women.

Anyway still trying to wrap my head around him being a drug addict, having a terminal illness (or possibly AIDS) and yet finding time to screw all these women the last few years of his life. He really was Superman I guess. lol

It is called being an adult and being an adult relationships. Nothing disrespectful about it and I have yet to hear anyone complain about him being disrespectful.

It's possible they were just friends who enjoyed each other's company. She said in the interview that he told her he wanted to do an album with her.He may have genuinely thought that she was talented and she's never implied that they were romantic. She has some nice photos and footage on her IG.She has some from the show in Louisville of Prince when he opened with her song Emotional. Also photos of her all access pass for 3EG and other momentos. She was with him a lot in 2015.Her first post about him was of her VIP pass for the show in Paris in 2014.It is kind of interesting that she was traveling with him.He also was working with Marissa Jack (The Golden Hippie) and Nik West at the time.I think Snoh has a cool, unique sound and I'm sure she and Prince would have created some interesting music together

An adult can have a friendship/relationship with another adult that doesn’t involve sex. I do think it’s disrespectful to suggest Prince’s only interest in women (or their interest in him) revolved around sex.

No one stated that is only interest in this women sexual. That is in your mind anytime a female is mentioned that he interacted with. Even Susannah said he was not chasing women just to sleep with then but that he really liked companionship and enjoyed their company. You realize that if he had Sex with a women it does not wipe out compassion and caring.

You said he was still “catting around”. So obviously you think so. I absolutely believe he enjoyed female companionship but I don’t think he was screwing every woman he had a close friendship with. Also I never used the words compassion or caring so I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

Makes him like many teenagers of that time.
He still had girls around him and thoughts of past heartbreaks etc.
But I feel deeply that during those last few years he was ready for something much bigger and sacred, and only a very unique woman would’ve caused him to freely give himself, mind body and soul.

This quote of hers from the article reminds me of the story we heard in 2016 from the DJ’d a date for Prince at a well-known restaurant in LA:

I’ll never forget one moment: I was meeting him in LA—he would always stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel—and he shut down 1912, the downstairs bar, so it was just the two of us.

The DJ article:

“he got a call from a friend who worked at a famous hotel in LA. One of the guests had made a last-minute request for a DJ to play the hotel bar, and they needed someone who could get there and start playing music within an hour. That hotel guest was Prince.”

https://www.stereogum.com...park/news/

I don’t think the years match up, but perhaps P used the Beverly Hills Hotel bar as a place to meet with people. Makes sense if he was staying there and felt it wasn’t appropriate to bring them to his suite like he would men when discussing a business deal.

It sure seemed like he had a special connection with Tamron Hall. On the day of his passing she gave an interview on MSNBC and said the only person she talked to more than Prince was her mother. Of course Tamron Hall is 47 not early 20s. wink

Something tells me that these late night, closed down, candlelit bars weren’t selected because they’re appropriate venues for a business meeting (an office somewhere would suffice for that). Somehow I can’t picture him inviting a male colleague to a private “business meeting” in that environment.

That’s who Prince was. Lavender candles and nighttime...
He took the meeting with the managers of the 2007 Super Bowl in his hotel suite because it was ok to have men in his hotel room. I don’t think he felt it was appropriate to have women in there.
He did have women friends in his hotel suite, I think after there was a clearly established line that they were already friends.
Prior to that being establish, he might have wanted young women to feel comfortable.
I can’t imagibe Prince with a tie on renting out some office space in LA.

He would meet reporters in hotel lobbies.
I feel it must be hard to find places to meet when you’re on the road.

I also know P would sort of “interview” people to determine if he wanted them in his world. Maybe he found making them relax, and seeing if they could keep up with his hours and were therefore real, helped him decide if he wanted them around.

By the way, I realized at some point last year that he was correct, “real” (healthy) people can stay up all night and hold all kinds of hours, because they’re not dragged down with emotional baggage.
They’re emotionally honest.

He was close to several women at the end it seems.Tamron,Judith,Damaris,Apollonia,Janelle,Kandace,Snoh,Andy,Kat Graham LaLa and Dani Leigh have all said that they were in contact with him in the last year of his life. Some of the women were likely just close friends and Judith was the only one who said she was in a romantic relationship with him at the time.Snoh was in her late 20's and the rest were in their mid 20's-early 30's with the exception of Tamron. He was seeking companionship with women closer to his own age in Tamron and Apples it appears. Also meeting with JJ,Susan and Brenda who according to Jill, were planning to take turns going to PP and staying with him.

And because there's an AIDS registry, anyone who is aware they are infected and passes it to another can be charged with a crime.
People forget that little detail.
So no, that's not a possibility for years as many believe.
But a dependancy in a drug that allows you to still live your life and perform, yeah -- until it rears its ugly head and traps you.

I may be wrong here, but I don't think Prince or any associate ever said that he didn't allow women, including business executives, into his hotel suite unless a "friendship had been established." (sounds very Mike Pence-esque). Did you read somewhere that he had adopted that policy?
-
I think the meeting with executives about his Super Bowl show was a little different from his get-together with Aalegra, and not because of the gender of the professionals involved. He actually had a specific, important business contract with the Super Bowl organizers; he didn't have anything like that with Aalegra. She was one of many young, beautiful singers who he befriended, mentored, etc. etc. in his latter years.

I remember the DJ coming onto the Org I think it was, and talking about it when we posted the article in mid-2016.
We asked him when this happened and I believe he said “sometime over the last several months.” Or, “the last year”. It was recent. But I can’t find the thread now.
Do you have any links about this?

FlyOnTheWall

With regard to the "date" when Prince shut down the hotel bar during Coachella, the DJ never mentioned stopping for Prince to play a piano interlude, as did Ms. Aalegra. The DJ did say that he was told that Prince might try to play the piano, but based on his highly detailed account, that never happened. He did, however, go into great detail about the playlist that he curated for Prince and his mystery guest's enjoyment.
