Sounds good, as she worked with Prince for a long time and offered opinions about his music as he made it. She even had the guts to tell him something was not as great as he thought it may be (From Possessed).

Thanks Adorecream 😀 This is why this book is truly special. We all know that Prince didn't take kindly to advice and opinions from most people but with Marylou, he had such respect for her, that he welcomed it. Rather than look at it as criticism, he liked that she said the truth, rather than what he wanted to hear.

Here's what Dr Fink has to say about Marylou's new book: "Marylou Badeaux has the word “bad” in her name, meaning she was the baddest Warner Brothers marketing agent on the planet. This memoir has the stories and photos that have never been heard or seen before from the perspective of someone involved around the inner workings of Prince's world. I definitely think he would've enjoyed all of the memories contained within." Dr. Fink - The Revolution

wonderful

When Matt read the book, he couldn't put it down. Told Marylou direct that he loved every bit of it... High praise coming from someone who was Prince's keyboard player for so many years!

Reluctantly I went to fakebook and read:

Lots of been asking about my publication date. It is set as the 14th of December for the paperback and hardback internationally.

Please bear with me as I work out all the details of who will be carrying the book, pre-orders, etc.

As you have

noticed P's fans are particular. And you noted that this is a good thing or something to that effect.

so if you could give us a little more history of P and marylou that might aid your publicity effort. Thanks. best!!!

Finchy65,

I'm curious...I've known of Marylou's role in Prince's career, and have always wondered if she is from this area (New Orleans, La.)? The last name Badeaux is inherent to this area...and Prince has family ties here as well, being that both sets of grandparents were from Louisiana. Just curious wink

Purplefam99 - You mentioned that Prince's fans are particular. I had to laugh, as I'm one of them 😀 Have been a massive fan of his music and concerts since the Controversy album and a huge collector...

In response to your question re the history Prince and Marylou had, I don't think I could answer that better than Karen Krattinger's comment below:

"I can't actually remember the first time I met Marylou Badeaux ... but I also can't actually remember a time that she wasn't around for the “important” events.
Marylou breezed in & out of Paisley Park and on & off the road. It was probably the Purple Rain Tour, because that's where it all started for me!
Having Marylou in the picture was a refreshing change from working with other “label” people; she fit in, she was a part of the team and inner-circle, and she was always welcome by the entire staff, and Prince. Often times when I'd give Prince a message ... “Prince, so-and-so called...” he'd ignore me completely or say “What did they want?” But, when I'd say “Prince, Marylou phoned,” he'd say “Can you get her on the phone for me!” Gladly!

I have seen the voodoo doll. It looks like Parade Prince. Apparently, some people in the costume department made it for Karen when she was fired. As for the personal stuff probably stolen from P, I have seen that on the auctioneer site (there was a checkbook--obviously, Prince was not going to give away his checkbook.)

Hello Orgers I'm pleased to announce that my dear friend, Marylou Badeaux, will soon be releasing a new book 'Moments - Remembering Prince'. Some of you would have heard of Marylou, who has the unbelievable history of working directly with Prince for over 20 years... I have been a close friend of Marlyou's for years (we catch up regularly for coffee/chats) and the stories I have heard regarding her time with Prince are truly amazing. I have been one of the priveliged few who have read the final book (and gave feedback on), and I can assure everyone here that once you start reading it, you won't want to put it down! For those of you that don't know me, I was the 'Australian Connection' for Eileen Murton's wonderful 'Controversy' magazine, well before the internet. I have also been a 'lurker' on here for years, often on a daily basis 😀 In the meantime, below is a link to the newly set-up Facebook page, which will keep you informed about this amazing soon-to-be-released book: https://www.facebook.com/mlbadeaux Cheers - Michael
I'll have to check this one out 😎😎😎 i just hope there's nothing salacious in the book.

watch the interview above I think she read and mentioned your post!

Thanks for posting the interview, OnlyNDaUsa 😊

It was a wonderful experience to interview Marylou and we covered a lot of ground! Hope everyone enjoys listening.

Marylou has graciously given me an advance review copy of the book, and although I’ve only been able to have a skim so far, this book is truly something special and everyone is gonna love it! I’m travelling to London on Thursday and I can’t wait to get stuck into it on the long train trip!

Hi Militant - Marylou was VERY pleased with the knowledge you had re Prince. She really enjoyed your interview smile) As I mentioned in my initial post, she is a very close friend and we are in regular contact. I was there when the idea came up for the book and was 100% for it, as I knew she had SO many amazing stories re her dealings with Prince. When she started writing, I was her 'sounding board', gave feedback, offered suggestions etc and she gladly took my advice. As the 'Aussie Connection' for Controversy Magzanine, I am well aware of many things 'Prince', so it was a real joy to be involved. I was also one of the priveliged few to get a copy of the book when it was finished and as you would agree, Militant, this book is full of fascinating Prince-related stories 😀 A must for Prince fans!!
