Nothing wrong with musicians making music but anything that looks like just a Prince cover band is wrong wrong wrong. That’s why I’ve never been to see Chase & Ovation. Prince cover bands don’t interest me in the least. Paisley Park is in your heart

I don't have a problem with musicians making music either, however, in The Current article, Omarr specifically said they will be puting out "a new album of Prince covers by musicians from the NPG" That don't sound too original to me! Have U had your + today? | |

exactly what i was wondering...how is he qualified to make these decisions?..at least Tyka has experience in the industry and in a recording studio...i dont know that Omar is any more qualified than Alfred... |

Purple Reign (cover band) was surprisingly great. But this just looks so cheesy. This visual looks like when a used-to-be-great band now is on a local record label that nobody has heard of. I guess we'll find out soon enough. Maybe they will be a pleasant surprise. |

I thought I was disheartened by NPG and Revolution touring without Prince. this takes the cake however. Prince must have been paying for everything for his half-bro while he was alive. Becuase now that he is dead and his fortune is tied up in probate, Omar resorts to his lunacy to get money. Does anyone actually think this band will make any money for the estate, especially when Prince music is available on Spotify, Amazon etc. Its not all of his music or concerts (which is very unfortunate) but it is certainly the same music these folks are probably going to cover in their little "tribute" band. This impersonater might be really talented but I have never liked the concept of impersonaters. they are nothing but caricatures most of the time (which is okay for comedy, but not much else) and the imagery they are projecting on this poster of this Prince substitute is skeevy and creepy. For one, he is not delicate enough or young enough looking to pull off that look. And the look is a badly derivative version of Graffiti Bridge Prince. (Prince pulled it off--this dude does not.) Appearance-wise, he looks like the tommy Wiseau (god awful, tacky actor and director ofthe worst film ever made the Room) of Prince impersonators.
Also Prince is irreplacable. Period.
