It started with Computer Blue and I still love it. But there are a few others that also come to mind: If I Was Your Girlfriend, Empty Room, and The Question of U. I've liked almost all the changes he and his music have gone through over the years.

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

When Doves Cry

Still my favorite Prince song.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I'm not a human
I am a dove
I'm your conscious
I am love

Prince connection: Ingrid Chavez co-wrote this song, in case someone doesn't know this tidbit.

1999 was the first song I'd ever heard from Prince. After that, it was Little Red Corvette. As a 10 year old kid in Detroit, I was hooked.

Again I can't pick just one song of his. I like ALL his songs. I even like the songs he wrote for other artists. If I had to pick it would be "Partyman', "Holy River" "Man in a uniform' "Joy in Repetition" "Somewhere here on Earth" I love Funky music and Movie Star is the funniest track.

Peach was in heavy rotation on MTV- I loved the song. I was 11 or 12 at the time. He looked so cool in the video. I then bought Diamonds & Pearls, which I really enjoyed, but Peach wasn't on it. Internet in Romania was a scarce resource, I didn't know on which album it was on, so I searched for other albums, and I then found Come & The Black Album, which aren't his most accessible albums, but I didn't give up. Eventually I found Peach on the Hits cd and the rest is history. So, for me, it's Peach.

It was probably "Pink Cashmere" when I was about 14 back in '99.

You know what? I am wrong about Ingrid being co-writer here. I apologize for my error. I was thinking of another song by the group Natural Selection and their song 'Do Anything'. Sorry! But, hey, the drum machine is patterned after Lady Cab Driver!

I heard Purple Rain on the radio.

"Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

shrug I guess to answer your question, "Eye Hate U."

Don't take that literally...

I'm referring to the song.

Bought the single when it 1st came out, went straight 2 my local library & hired out "Controversy" and "For You." Bought "The Gold Xperience" CD a few days later, started discovering his back catalogue little by little, bought all his new stuff that came out after that.

Mind you, I'd always heard his music growing up and already owned some Prince records and CDs, so I was already a bit of a fan.

Just not really "hardcore" till then.

Didnt like Prince in the 80s (I was a hard rock/metal fan) but I always stopped everything I was doing to listen to When doves cry when it played on the radio

.

In the 90s, I heard ´The Most Beautiful girl in the world´ on the radio and asked a friend to record some Prince stuff. He recorded Diamonds and Pearls and Symbol albums on a K7 tape. The rest is history smile

Not that LRC wasn't the proper primer for that, sure was. Therein lies it.

Let's Pretend We're Married.

When he did that whole, "I want to fuck you so bad it hurts" I was hooked! He was singing my thoughts I was having about some hot chick at the time.

"For You" was the perfect first song for his first album. In that beautiful falsetto, he sang:

All of this and more is for you

With love, sincerity and deepest care

My life with you I share.

.

It was perfect because he shared himself with the world through his music.

.

I love him and miss him. Fortunately, he left so much music that he can still be here in spirit through his music.
