My son is not a fan, but he really understands the talent. He likes the Brit Awards performance, the rock n roll hall of fame performance and the version of Reflections with Wendy Melvoin. All beautiful and not a lot of falsetto or screaming

Prince usually didn't try to sing "pretty" as in super clean, silky smooth. He did what felt added the right texture for the song. Also, even though he was a great singer, other singers had a fuller voice in within their limited vocal range. Prince compensated with superb mic technique, amazing control, emotion and ability to add different textures like an instrument with effect pedals. Alexander O'neal on the other hand, was a VOICE. But Morris had a few things similar to Prince that would win him The Time, and that's his stage persona and attitude. He didn't even need the vocal control Prince had.

I thought I'd offer maybe some real advise..I've used Motherless Child live to change minds it is deep and has a killer guitar solo .Judas Smiles and My Medallion both from Chocolate Invasion. Judas smiles is a complex journey musically and demonstrates his range..My medallion is a funny story about a women who plays a joke on him.. The my guitar weeps solo from the induction into the Rock and Roll museum that blows everyone away is unforgettable..if she isn't hooked by then..there may be no hope and you'll just have to come here to share your Prince love.

In my experience, people who don't like Prince WANT to not like Prince.

Same with the movie 'Titanic'.

I know a few people who just find his falsetto a bit annoying. Something like Starfish & Coffee might work, melodic and sweet

I can get some people don't dig Prince, but to say he can't sing is laughable. Just as bad as people saying MJ can't dance. You have to laugh really

I don't think I could even date a woman that doesn't like Prince, or MJ, honestly.
