i'm sure he did, so what' worse, all the preachers and christians who do things against their religion (and vilify others for same) like gay activity, molestation, infidelity, stealing money?

I lived with a preacher, i used to wonder how he, his wife and the people in church rationalized the things they did in their own minds. I was (un) lucky not to lose my virginity to any of them. Used to fasinate me and still does, the woman who would have petitions against child molestation and call me over to do her weeds while she flirted with me. Used to just fascinate me how they put that all together in their minds. Prince, and marvin gaye before him were very open about that same conflict in their music.

Pete, I'm sorry those people tainted your perception of Christianity. If you are truly searching for an outlet of salvation through Christ, don't put your faith in humans. They'll let you down every time. Most are hypocrites and flawed representatives of the Christian faith. Jesus was the only perfect soul. If you are truly interested in the salvation Jesus has to offer, the example to follow is in the man himself.

Forget Jesus, you should have slept with the preacher's wife Pete.

Yes, I believe that some people could have been saved through Prince's music. In such songs as "The Cross" where he is clearly singing about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins and the song with the verse "Jesus save me, I've been a fool" -- these are songs which I believe Prince sung about as his way of witnessing to people who may not have been saved. I think Prince had compassion for all people and was truly concerned for everyone's soul, because Prince knew that accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior is the ONLY way to Heaven. I'm a Christian and really believe Prince was too and was saved and is in Heaven right now singing praises to God. Prince so very often told people to read their Bibles and like John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Prince BELIEVED that! I don't mean to sound "preachy" either but I just had to share this.

The Cross, etc. was way before Larry Graham and his JW teachings which is different than traditional Christian beliefs. So did Prince revert back to his thinkings before hooking up with LG or did he spend his final week or day still believing the JWs? eye crysball

i don't really think anyone knows definitively but there are two major things that we should remember. Number one; he was never a rank and file follower of the jws, he still pretty much did what he wanted to do, he wore makeup and feminine clothes, he sang about sex. number 2: he has seemed to venture away from strict dogma with even a name like third eye girl, talk of visiting dead people in his sleep, astral projection and with songs like way back home. the basic tenets of JWs are that you do not get into mystical stuff, that it's all the work of the devil and grounds for excommunication. He also seemed to relax some of the lyrical strictness of his old songs. I believe that he was always spiritual and just found different ways in search of the best, I think he was evolved past much of it at his death. One element of spirituality and transcendance is not really being fearful of death and he certainly didn't seem fearful of it in his last week and he didn't appear to pull out the stops to getting good help as if he wanted to really live. But really, none of us know.

I truly believe Prince never lost sight of who Jesus because he was raised knowing Jesus was the Son of God and that when he passed away on April 21, 2016 he immediately went to be with Jesus. He even said on a televised interview from Paisley Park that he would celebrate the day he died because he knew he was going to Heaven.

Do you know why he started delving in the 3rd eye aka New Age Movement in the end if he never lost sight of Jesus? The twitter post with the image of him with the two eyes closed and the 3rd eye open, I think people said it was posted after the Atlanta emergency inicident.

But does the third eye thing really mean he was into new word religion? Who knows what Prince meant by that. I guess that's something new world religions do but I don't think that means for sure Prince was into those religions.
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.
