What I read was he took the recording from First Ave and did some work on it and intended for it to be in the movie...but by the time filming happened it was changed to the Beautiful Ones! (I do hope they have the full version of that song too).

yeah... i think 4:55 version that is out there may be the 'studio' version. but that seems more like the final rehersal than the one at the concert.

The timing of this press release as well as the amount of content mentioned seems
like a response to all the PR that Universal are getting to try and reclaim some headlines. I had thought that having two companies handle things would be a bad thing but if there's anything to my theory, perhaps that competition will be a good thing for us. I'd be happy with a high quality version from the First Ave. Benefit Concert. That version is awesome.

That show was released on VHS (and can be bought on DVD too) - it's pretty clear that Prince asked for his performance to be cut from it and may have even taken legal action, as it's not on the commercial release. |

it all seems like very good news to me. even if one of the shows is syracuse, at least this gives hope that we will finally see proper dvd releases of live shows. it's likely too much to expect a dvd from each classic era tour, but perhaps now there's faint hope for that, and that's something i've wanted more than anything else. |

Electric Intercourse was done in '83 at First Avvenue. The birthday show was in '84 and something entirely different. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain. |

1 disc with unedited album versions and bsides and 2 or 3 outtakes/session songs
