The police is consider homicide because that person/people should have no business give Prince that drug even if that person didn't know that drug contains fentanyl. Drug dealers often get charge with second degree or third degree homicide, if that person overdosed and died on their supply, hardly first because they rarely want their buyer to die, they need them alive for money. But however they knew selling illicit drugs is usually harmful. I am saying this without going to another drug addict/drug dependency debate.

Some people confused some info (I understand since lot of orgers are not from the US and doesn't understand some of the laws here) with just because a typical US coroner's office ruling one way that doesn't mean the police would go by what they ruled. Doesn't work that way. The police can still charge people regardless of how the coroner ruled whether its accurate or mistake or covering up to save the family from public shamed.

Actually YES, Laura. Anyone who noticed the news story about the armored truck leaving Paisley a few months ago, figured out that P had an especially large amount of *something* hidden.

No wonder P was the only one with the combo to his vault.

In hindsight, it is interesting that he already hinted at this in his song "The War".

I wonder how long he had been collecting gold.

The quote says HOMICIDE investigation. I didn't add it myself, it's in the article. rolleyes and it's the Carver County Sheriff's that I read who didn't have a full time assignment. If you read even just the part of the article I posted the US DEA (federal) is part of the investigation also. Can you show me anything that says they aren't investigating this? If not, then don't waste my time accusing me of anything. I can read quite well thank you very much, as well as thoroughly (when I want to). It sure the heck isn't a suicide investigation that's being covered up with everybody involved being paid off to keep quiet. Which seems like a few people around here keep spewing with extreme intensity without any evidence to their words as backup. Kind of ticks me off.

I still believe using the word homicide is over-stating it. Sure it could lead to some sort of charges but not in the sense that some people here think. It's not going to be any sort of pre-meditated, huge case of corruption with sordid details of how some jealous lover took prince out or some unscrupulous record company conspired to take him out, or some evil two-faced associates did him in. Same as now in the end it's all going to be quite sad and unfortunate and there may even be others involved as clueless enablers perhaps, or stupid drug dealers who don't even know what they are peddling to people. Illegal yes. Sinister conspirators no.

Well, the article says : " Under Minnesota law, anyone who gave Prince the fentanyl that killed him could face a potential third-degree murder charge, even if that person did not know the pills contained the drug.".

So, in legal terms, using the word homicide is not overstated or farfetched at all.

But I see that you do acknowledge that some shady drug dealers might have to face the consequences of what they did.

Why do you find the term overstated if the law itself uses a much stronger word by calling it potential third degree murder?

My guess would be post 2008. Many people invested in gold after the financial crash as it never loses value and often doubles or triples in value during recessions.

Someone was saying (was it not on this thread?) that, according to reports in the 1990s, P had run into some financial issues and told an associate to go and dig up the gold in the yard - they ran into some problems because, initially, they couldn't locate it. biggrin
.

To me, this reinforces (once again) that P 'lived' his lyrics. In the 90s, he was always talking about gold - I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that it was then that it occurred to him to BUY some too!

Never mind. Like I've said before it's the tendency here of people to SENSATIONALIZE the inforation. People get carried away with it.
Aaaaaanyway, I was looking thru some of the documents that can be found via the links on the firest page of this thread. Wow, just wow. There is soooo much. But what I'm curious about is all the "redacted" stuff. Does that mean it was public at one point and now it's not? How or why do they pick and choose what can be viewed by the public and what can't be? Who makes that decision, and again why? Public is public I don't get it. What harm could come of it all remaining viewable to the public?

Whatever the listed asset redactions are, the Estate doesnt want us to know.

I calculated the redactions to be approximately $3,126.503.00+

Back at the begining of the probate it was decided that some finacial information would be redacted due to personal and business reasons. ( sometimes business deals are hidden from the public for proprietary reasons the public does not have the right to know private business dealings. I am just glad we do not see debts redacted that would mean that they would be hiding some debt he owed.

It is a legal newspaper that attorneys, and courts use to give "legal notice" of hearing. It is notice as to the hearing this week. The left side is a certification from the newspaper. Here is the breakdown chart, with an update to Cousin's claim which was disallowed. I am wondering if the heir/DNA results will be addressed in the hearing on the 12th to clean up some of the mess. I know there are some appeal cases coming up, but do not anticipate them to win their arguement and for the Courts to upheld the non-heir status.

As always, please let me know if I missed anything.

It is a legal newspaper that attorneys, and courts use to give "legal notice" of hearing. It is notice as to the hearing this week. The left side is a certification from the newspaper. It contains general certification language. There are numerous other "legal notices" in this newspaper which includes foreclosure actions which you cannot see because they redacted all the notices next to the Estate Hearing Notice. The foreclosure language is not applicable to P's estate. biggrin

Anyone have any insight or thoughts on the avadavit notice in Carver County? Is this just a notice published in the paper for heir claims and financial claims or is for foreclosure?

Just released:

In hindsight, it is interesting that he already hinted at this in his song "The War".

I wonder how long he had been collecting gold.

My guess would be post 2008. Many people invested in gold after the financial crash as it never loses value and often doubles or triples in value during recessions.

.

Actually, gold has lost 1/3 of its value since it soared high after 2008. It's a volatile investment.

I'm wondering if he was paid in cash or gold bars for overseas appearances; you could bring that into the country easily via private planes and not face the tax man.

Prince was very crafty.

[Edited 1/9/17 19:48pm]

Whatever the listed asset redactions are, the Estate doesnt want us to know.

I calculated the redactions to be approximately $3,126.503.00+

eek

.

This is only a guess: trusts.

I have said before he may have been dealing with cash for transactions. Other websites are saying the exact opposite of what you stayed about Gold value over the last few years.

A trust does not have to go through a probate court so I am not sure what these assets are.

That depends.

There are always "if's" in law.

It depends on the wording of the Trust, and how the Trust is to be dispersed.

My understanding and correct me if I am wrong is that a trust is a means for moving money from the Estate. I would think that if the money was moved into a trust before he passed that it would not be listed as a asset and the tax burden would be lowered.

Maybe these redacted assests are from recent deals. Apparently, Breamer has some deal they are working with the Streaming services to get the music on those plateforms before the Grammies.

Perhaps some upfront money was a part of the deal. I cannot think of any other deals that would add money and be hush hush.

If I saw a debt that was redacted I would be more concerned like some debt was being paid out that is secrect. I see an assest as being some proprietary information that some company has requested be redacted.

However we never found out what the work product was and if Tyka did give two protential heir names to the court althought would something like that would be debts if there are trust for children.

Okay what is the problem if he brought it anytime in the last 17 years he still made out good.

See article below.

"It's unclear when Prince bought the gold, but the price of the asset rose from less than $300 an ounce in 2000 to more than $1,800 an ounce in 2011 before pulling back to its current price of $1,180 an ounce on Monday."
