If it's done like Across the Universe than yes. Those are the only Beatles covers I can stomach, very well thought out.

I don't know if THIS guy should be part of the actual Broadway production, but maybe the touring company.

That looks like a still from a porn film. Some chick has a strap on, getting ready to give him her own sticky wicked.

No. Not for my generation. Not now.

Maybe later for future generations who were not alive when he was around. Then, anything that keeps the love alive.

Prince liked the idea of stage musicals.Wasn't he planning one in 1986? The songs "Girl Of My Dreams" and "Can't Stop This Feeling I Got" were written for it,if I'm not mistaken.

Personally, I think a reworked Graffiti Bridge would make a better musical. Taking inspiration from the original murual. A Paisley West side story. Two sides competing, 7 corners on stage. It could made up of the big hits, plus a sprinkling of unreleased, Like 'the Grand Progression'.

I think if there was gonna be a musical based on a movie,it should be a hit movie.....a film that everyone knows smile Graffiti Bridge was a massive flop

We know that Prince loved musicals and that at different points in his career he planned to write one. I believe that, whether we like it or not, Purple Rain the musical is going to happen. It would be a project for the masses rather than the fans; I would go to watch it, even though I'm not sure how I feel about the idea. So - should it happen?

Back in 1993 there was a short-lived Prince musical production loosely based on Homer's Odyssey called Glam Slam Ulysses. The musical received a limited performance at Prince's Glam Slam nightclub.

Should that have happened? Nooooooooooo... lol

I don't think a Purple Rain musical would work because too much of Prince is tide into that, but another album or even a re-working of Grafiti Bridge may work.

I don't know because we are so tied to the music in its original state, that we may not be open to new versions and such.

I won't say no to the idea completely but, I don't know.

The color purple got a new soundtrack for broadway-none of the movie music is the play. Could we handle that? Would that change the essence of the story????????????????????????????

Beautiful, Loved and Blessed

Thank You Prince

What about a cirque du soleil show they have one for the beatles and mj and there both great and they generate alot money for each person. Prince estate could use the money and it would bring more relvence to him. And prince was very visual so imagine the possibilities.

No. Purple rain is over 30yrs old. Obviously, that isn't something he saw for his masterpiece. Otherwise, HE would have done it himself

I remember this.It didn't really take off,but a musical based on Purple Rain (a huge 80s movie with memorable songs) would surely do much better.

A Prince-themed Cirque du Soleil would be awesome!
