THANK YOU! Empress, I'm glad you said this, because I was about it. I can't imagine someone going up to Tyka and actually asking that question. How fucking selfish and heartless! I'd slap a MFer if someone came up to me and challenged me as to why my mother was cremated instead of buried. (PS She died on April 21, 2012.)

On a non-emotional level, I sometimes believe that celebrities are cremated because it's a security concern. All too often graves have been desecrated and bodies are stolen. Why, I have no idea, other than obsessive fanaticism, that someone would want to steal a dead body. It's creepy A.F.

And the statement the OP said about "burned his son" is a bit harsh. It's the remains. The son is gone at that point, obviously. No soul, no spirit, no life. The life has transitioned, the body starts to decay right away. It's creepy to hang onto something so temporary.

It's really no one's concern if they equate cremation to hell (which is so ridiculous - do you not go around a camp fire or a BBQ grill or a fireplace????), or if a fan likes it or not. Prince was not your brother or son or father or husband or cousin. It's simply no one's business.

Next time you are at a camp fire or fireplace, walk up in it and tell me how that feels? mad

.

You do understand that a "deceased" person can no longer "feel" anything.

Why?? Burial or cremation, either way it is a way to dispose of the deceased.

When a body is being cremated the deceased feels no pain so therefore is not suffering. The soul departed upon death already. Nothing to do with hell either.

Burial is an expensive process besides letting out the blood and replacing the blood with chemicals to preserve the body for viewing to delay decay https://en.wikipedia.org/..._chemicals

A dead person doesn't feel any pain. Are your responses just a cry for attention? Or are you genuinely err..naive..shall we say.

.

Exactly, when a person dies, all their pain ceases. Prince has no more pain -- his is at PEACE with God. Believe that.

Your statement maneuvers in a delusion. I can only deal in reality.

And lo, the Lord said unto Felicia, "Fare thee well". But Felicia tarried and the Lord spake unto her a second time. "Get thee gone!" And Felicia did go as was spake unto her.

I assume that God decides where your soul goes upon death.... heaven or hell. That is not decided upon because of how a deceased was either buried or cremated.

Wth??!! confuse

And if the OP ever saw the way a body is manipulated and drained like a swimming pool, then refilled with chemicals to preserve a façade of reality, they'd think twice on it. The post reminds me of a Prince lyric:

Now I'm thinking that a cat like U would be troublesome
And sock U in the mind tangling curriculum
Guaranteed 2 leave U in a state of delirium
While all along teaching they kids in the valley 2 become unlike U:
broke and dumb

I was responding to cloveringold85 saying "Exactly, when a person dies, all their pain ceases."

Which is in Contradiction to The Holy Bible. Which some reach everlasting Happiness: Heaven and some go to everlasting torment: Hell.

Prince's final wishes--or anyone else--shouldnt be anyone else business but love ones and it should be respected even if you might not agree with it.

And also some of the orgers tend to be intolerate toward other people's beliefs and disbeliefs and I am seeing more on this going on since April 21st as new people joined here. Prince believed in bring people together through music. I noticed some of the orgers posted very intolerent posts toward non-believers or people who practicing non-mainstream religions and thank you Mods for trying to keep it peace and snip and deleted intolerate posts. Prince even admitted he liked watching Bill Maher and he was an atheist.

StopIt

But burial and funerals is a "business" to make money, and one that doesn't benefit either this planet or what he believed awaited.

His son's cremation was widely circulated.

He preached about Not worshipping false idols.

He sought freedom exhaustively.

How cremation does not compute with some is odd.

It's not pleasant to think about, but it is obvious.

I just read Vanity was cremated quickly.

If that is accurate, perhaps there were common reasons.

I googled some articles by JW leaders discussing the subject. Their conclusion: whether the body of a deceased person is to be cremated or not is a personal or family decision So there u have it, and I couldn't agree more!

Maybe Prince realized that it doesn't matter whether you are cremated or buried because you are dead. Personally I would prefer cremation over burial because I hate the thought of my body deterioting and being eaten by worms.

It's wasted energy and wasting resources that are part of your body.
