Just bought my SOTT and FOR YOU re issues in the stores... The cover and sounds looks great. They added some glossy and more contrast to the color on the covers.

It's strange seeing all his 80's albums in stocked in vinyl once again...

Any news on when is LOVESEXY being released? What's after that?...

I doubt it'll be the hologram. It was not used on the original, only the cd. I assume it'd be too expensive to reproduce for the vinyl.

...and the hologram was not just available in the USA.

They are 140g. The reissues from 2011 (Dirty Mind to Purple Rain) were 180g.

The For You reissue cover sleeve is way too dark. There is a lot of detail lost when compared to the original LP cover.

The Prince LP reissue cover has more of a blue tint than the original release and isn't as sharp. The back cover art is cropped with loss of detail there too.

It makes me think the original art was lost or not accessible when these two album covers were reprinted.

I bought the SOTT re-issue at FNAC in France on 28/10, and just today the digital Mps version is in my Digicopy account. None of the other Prince Vinyl re-issues I bought off them had a digital version included. It will be interesting to see how the sound of this mp3 is compared to my CD rip (ALAC).

These are actual, legit, confirmed releases of great interest to some fans, yet we have to keep scuffling around in the search box to keep this thread on screen. Discussing these releasing in relation to each other, in one thread that doesn't keep dying a death, feels like a useful service to our community.

Also, isn't it possible that that a remastered D&P might finally let us hear Jughead the way it was intended? Or that the horrible sounding reverb drums all over the GB album might somehow mellow in this new edition? Or, if neither of those things are likely, maybe someone could console us by just making this thread a sticky?
