Would it be as beautiful in black & white? Now imagine entire UTCM in color. smile

Under the Cherry Moon in color wouldn't look like that because that particular outfit was not purple.

What kind of tv system do you have??

I have a 55" Panasonic VIERA VT60 Series Full HD Plasma TV, with videophile settings for best movie watching. It's a 1080p TV, not 4K. But these images are not off a TV, they are details of the same frame off the discs themselves.

[Edited 8/5/16 13:19pm]

DVD above

These images won't be exactly akin to what's represented on the TV. Blu-ray should in theory be 6x the picture quality (pixels/detail) of dvd. But on a 1080p display the 720x480 dvd feed will be upscaled, so it will always look better for it. Anyone who has dvd and blu-ray versions of the same film will know it's not 6x the difference in quality.

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

Plasma?

They still have plasma?

And if that is the excuse to downplay the resolution of a blu-ray (I do not even OWN a blu-ray player yet), what is the better screen to watch blu-rays at?

Because I want to see all pixels of my new Prince blu-rays (purple-rays?).

You're right upscaling can appear to improve DVD quality. Upscaling is the artificial creation of pixels to fill in the space, on the fly in real time. But if you are looking at a large enough picture, DVD is still annoying in it's slight blurriness.

These images are arguably the DVD mage being upscaled with an even better algorithm in photoshop to make a comparison at the same size.

I have a few movies on both DVD and Blu-ray. The difference is the bluray really feels sharper and more precise in terms of both definition and color.

Plasma was the best, better than LCD, but now there is OLED.

.

No, you support the estate with your periodical contribution for stuff you already have.

Your urges do not have any relationship with this unless you insist.

Do we have links to European retailers (bolc.om, amazon.de etc) that announce this release?

I packed up my blu-ray player years ago and I'm now all digital. I wonder if I purchase this, if I also will get a digital copy of it too?

Has anyone been able to read the fine print on this?

As if your wacking off comment wasn't silly.

My response was very realistic and truthful.

No bol.com link yet for these blu-rays?

What about the concert film during the Sign 'O' The Times era? Why didn't Warner Bros. include that?

because Warner Bros doesn't own the rights for SOTT, it's Cineplex Odeon

For the SOTT blu-rays, see VVE33 from viavision and BIXF-0130 from happinet.

The latter is the japanee release that also has the PCM audio.

Saw some pics online and disappointed to see the box set doesn't have the 3 individual movies in purple cases but one purple case with Prince on the cover and 3 discs inside. confused I may cancel the box set and order the individual releases instead.

It looks like the box is only going to cost about $5 less than buying all three so if you like the individual cases better the price difference isn't much.

I'm sure we'll get a US Blu release of Sign O'the Times soon. Not fond of ordering imports.
