I think the whole point of being a fan is watching/listening closely to emulate or LEARN. You admire the person's talent and life and you want to emulate it in some way and express that in your own life.

I think it's healthy to have a passionate or intense interest. Those who simply lust after another person might need to take a good look inside. There might be something missing in your own life. Prince wanted younger fans to follow him to learn about music/spirituality. He wanted to be a teacher. From a beloved teacher, you can learn what to do and what not to do. At some point, I think fans or students move on to other interest and teachers. JMHO

I think that I'm a bit obsessed about Prince's passing. My daughters (15 and 18) have both made comments about me always looking at Prince videos, interviews, and being on the org. My 15 yo asked me when will this end. I said I don't know.

I've accepted the fact that he is no longer here, but I feel so bad about it and there are still so many unanswered questions. I'm also concerned about what will happen to his work, PP, and his legacy. I hope it all remains with his family.

I don't think that I need counselling, but I am grieving probably more than I've greived for my own family members who have passed away.

I feel the same. Crying still. Looking at his face and hearing his voice is all I seek. prince eye
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

Felt a lot of what other posters have said. I agree that a huge part of it is still the shock of it. One poster said it the best for me, i'll get over it when i get good and damn ready. It will get easier with time but i will ALWAYS miss him and celebrate his musical legacy

Actually been taking a break from Prince for a while. Being a musician, I need other inspiration too.

It is natural to grieve for Prince.

I've listened to him every day for 32 years so I'm hurt by his passing.

However I am healing. When you have an understanding of spiritual things you will undersatnd that this is what is supposed to happen.

Everyone is going to die. Prince left just a little bit earlier before us.

If you are asking the question of should I get help or are feeling that way then you should. The stigma that comes from seeking counsel in our society is just wrong. We all probably need help for different reasons- yours might be for Prince, mine might be for procrastination. Nothing wrong with seeing trained professionals to help you overcome obstacles in your life regardless of where they exist.

What have you got to lose?
