Besides everything else, the most important: never gaining weight. That stretches out the skin. His skin stayed taut (perhaps with a very little help, because he didn't look "pulled").

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I think he did show age and changes through the years but he did age remarkably well. I agree with the above post, about maintaining his weight, that is very key. Also, it sounds like once he hit his 30's he ate very nutritious foods, from what I have read (yes, there was the sweet tooth too but he must have just had small amounts of it bc otherwise I imagine he would have started to gain weight from that at some point) Additionally, he lived life how he wanted, was his own boss for a long time, seemed to come and go as he pleased and from around age 40 on he seemed very HAPPY and that really does show on the outside.

These past few years, I thought he looked downright beautiful. I loved what he was doing with his hair and makeup

His questionable diet and bad sleeping habits probably kept his testosterone levels fairly low during the latter decades of his life.

I'm kidding, really, but it's a hormonal thing in the end, right?

Like Wendy Williams said when she met him, he moisturized" and his hands were "so soft".

Good genes, healthy eating habits and the money to afford the best skin products is my best guess.

Oh. And like someone else said, "Purple don't crack!"

Prince was beautiful at any age but......

I agree with whoever said he started to age the last 10 years or so. Many people do once they hit early to mid 50's...nowadays, 30's and even 40's you can get away with looking 10-15 yrs younger than you are if you take care of yourself--which i do, and i've been fortunate as well to not look like i'm in my 40's and yes genes are a factor as well.

I sympathize with entertainers like Prince who basically lived in the spotlight with videos and photoshoots concerts shows interviews etc

I don't fault them for doing a little more, whatever it is to keep up the look.

Right?

I was too.

But she said he smelled delicious. There's an orger who frequented PP and she's posted that he smelled delicious and that PP always had an interesting combination of candles, incense and that lavender was a predominant scent along with lilac, hyacinth, orchids and a few other things.

I wish I knew the exact scent.

I got 3121 but it was overwhelming and made me sneeze. Lol

What the....

The dude totally aged. However, good genes, not smoking and eating fairly well will keep you looking pretty great.

I do think that he did have some restylane work done from time to time as well, but that's no big deal at all.

He took very good care of himself, first and foremost. Yes he did age but it was definitely very gracefully.

it seems like he looked just as youthful and kept his good skin through all the years. Really amazing. I rarely see anything like this. I have some ideas but want to ask you all what you think the reason is he hardly aged if at all.

He used sunscreen and stayed out of the sun like a night owl.

He was up on judicious use of cosmetics and aesthetic clothing choices.

A lifetime of boinking and running around with the pure joy he felt in performing and making music produces endorphins. Endorphins keep you young.

Otherwise, he was cracking on the inside. sad

I remember reading a few years ago that he saw a dermatologist regularly. He wore makeup all the time...all his professional photos were probably photoshopped. Prince was a human man, near 60 years old. He had wrinkles, sagging skin and gray, thinning hair. I think if we ever saw him without all the makeup and his hair being done, he'd look good for being in his late 50s, but clearly in his 50s nonetheless.

Hold up - he didn't have sagging skin, that's just a lie lol He kept himself up, which most older folks could do if they just DID nod

Agreed! But, as anyone with a passport knows, there ain't any photoshop or retouching. Which makes this a really good case for P just being DAMN FINE at 57! I wish I had his mad skillz at make-up!

THAT is one of the photos where his face looks puffy (and a UK journalist mentioned the same thing in an article). It's obvious when James Cordon took the selfie.
