Yes, please make it easy for people to attribute you.

Honestly, when I started that smiles thread, it was to create a thread of just pictures of Prince smiling for people to look at and to make them easier to find for people visiting the org. That's it. I also saw a couple of posts of people asking for pictures to be separated by decade, so I saw the thread in that vein (themes instead of time periods).

I certainly never meant to take any credit for ANY of the images. Look I've seen pages of picspam threads and nobody's repeating the names of the videographers who took the videos from which the gifs came from and the photographers who took all of those photos. I also didn't see repeat attributions of reposted pics, so I had no idea I was stepping on anyone's toes.

For people who want attribution, what form do you want it to take?

For example, this picture I found on an old thread from 2009. Now the poster (joyinrepatition) is no longer on the org but saved this to photobucket. But is this really where the image came from orginally? How would you attribute this, if at all?

On behalf of all *my* fam here (U know who U R) I feel I need 2 speak 4 us. 4 ya'll who post and even 2 those who don't post but just enjoy what we do, we R NOT bitching at U/being rude or mean, things can get lost in translation here but we R not in the business of being mean or hurtful in here. And we certainly do not want 2 drive ppl away or give the impression others can not join our convos, or post pics. What we R saying is this:

If U R going 2 take from THESE pic threads which we work hard 2 find/make stuff believe me (as silly as that may sound 2 some) THEN post it elsewhere here ON THE ORG or, start a new thread doing the same, and act like "Hey look what I found/did!!!" it isn't cool ok? And if some1 does do that then for crying out loud have the freakin' courtesy 2 post the pic/GIF and give credit by saying this is from "So and so". 2 GIVE CREDIT 2 UR FELLOW ORGER IS 2 GIVE A GESTURE OF RESPECT/LOVE. I vivdly recall GH doing this very thing not that long ago when he posted photos he found/got from Old Friends 4 Sale.

And on a side note here...I sent an org note 2 OF4S before starting this thread making sure it was ok and NOT OVER KILL *ahem* and was given the green light 4 us 2 continue doing this and we should all thank OF4S (Thank U again!) 4 allowing us 2 continue doing this. Why did I do that? As aforementioned gesture of respect/gratitude 2 the mods of this amazing site -becuz like many of U, I am beyond grateful 2 have an outlet 2 come 2 in order 2 deal with my grief about P.

We aren't stupid in thinking ppl who don't register 2 use the org, or even current org members won't take and post our stuff on other sites and not give us credit. That would be cool, but it's not so much how the world works. As far as not looking at it like ppl stealing our thunder and all that jazz, that is not the point. I am hopefully making our point now, and hope ya'll understand finally what we R saying. I really don't want 2 go into another long explanation becuz this is kinda killing the free-loving vibe we had going on.

If any1 thinks our request is silly/stupid or that we R being overly sensitive think of it this way as I pointed out before: P lived his whole life standing up 4 what he believed in and the right 2 own HIS work. Now I'm not saying we own the right 2 what we post when we find photos (that'd be like saying we own the copyright 2 things we find and that's obviously insane 2 think that) we R just saying give credit (sounding like a broken record now) 2 the orger who posted whatever it is U like and feel the urge 2 share. 2 think we R implying that every1 find the original source or whatever and give credit like that is just ignorant 2 think that becuz it is impossible in most cases.

My last point 2 make in us talking about how we don't like/understand other pic threads is that it's just so stupid in and of itself, becuz we post literally everything here. Any1 reading this feel free 2 make requests 2 us or ask about photos, we love tracking things down and some of us know a lot of info, and since WE R the 1's making certain GIF's we of course know what it is, and where we got it. Plus it'll get 2 the point where every1 is so sick of seeing the same damn thing over, and over, and over, ppl won't even care anymore 2 see the photos when U make numerous pic threads. We don't want that 2 happen!!!

So there it all is, IDK how much clearer I can make it. Again, no 1 here is bitching/being mean 2 ya'll who don't understand where we R coming from, but I hope U do now understand. We have so, so much love here not just 4 P, but each other becuz this unites and bonds us in a serious way. So join in by asking questions about a certain pic/GIF, and by all means post but do try 2 look on the current thread atleast 2 see if something has been posted a billion times already becuz that's when ppl get sick of seeing it and then it'll get boring which will turn ppl off and no 1 will care and like I said we don't want that! We do repost stuff, a lot anyway 4 fun, or if some1 asks us if we have a certain 1, but we really dig deep and try hard everyday 2 find new stuff.

Please any1 reading this do not take offense 2 anything I said, becuz as I have pointed out numerous times, this isn't 2 be malicious it's just us having love and respect 4 each other and what we all do here.

Two reel-to-reel mastering reference tapes for Prince's first album, ''For You''. Dated 8 March 1978, the stereo tapes come housed in their original boxes, with each tape pertaining to one side of the original album. Once approved, an album ''Master'' was made and used to press up the individual albums. This was the last version of the album heard before the 9 songs were pressed to vinyl. Songs were recorded at the Record Plant in Sausalito, mixed at Sound Labs LA, and mastered at A&M. Only 5 copies were likely made, making this pair of tapes extremely rare. Tapes are offered as collector's pieces only and do not come with rights for reproduction, manufacturing or distribution. Each square box measures 7.25''. Minor wear and tearing to box, overall very good condition. With an LOA from Owen Husney. Five percent of net proceeds on this item will go to the charity, Our House LA's Camp Erin for Grieving Children.
