The land he owns across the street is almost that much. The land is over 140 acres and worth around $13.5M. I wonder what will happen with it?

He also has ~3.4 acres near Lake Riley with one parcel right on the water.

the architect sketches suggest that it was designed as a stand alone studio.

The Egg?

But it has windows. P* especially had no windows installed in any of the performance or studio spaces.

It almost looks like it might have been intended as some sort of home, separate from the rest. The bus hides the opening but logic says there's a garage door there (why else have a wide driveway)?

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I always thought the little square building with the pyramids (opposite the egg) was his office (that had like a smallish bed/bathroom off of it?). The office that's featured in the Gangster Glam vid 4 instance (& Troy goes looking 4 P in there in The Ryde Divine).
I always got the impression it was quite small. But I'm sure I read he had renovations done 2 his living quaters at some point too.
Anyway, since we've found out he's been living there recently (/a few years?) I just keep thinking it seemed quite small.

The room with the 3 windows in the middle, what's that used 4? Wasn't that the wardrobe dept when he had one? Or am I getting that mixed up? Anyone?

It is. The very first party I went to at Paisley Park was in the atrium. It was an afterparty for a show he did at Glam Slam that same night. It was a rehearsal for the Diamonds and Pearls tour. People were dancing and the only lights were on were from the columns. All of the sudden the elevator door opens up and all this light shines and out walks Prince in the same sleeveless/backless black outfit from the Insatiable video. I could have died.

It did use to be the wardrobe department. I haven't been in that area since. In the fall of 1995 they started having the parties in the soundstage area, and then later in 1996 they opened the Love 4 One Another room and had parties in both.

I just walked by it tonight. You wouldn't know it was residential property. The family will sell it if they have to to pay estate taxes.

There are two stages at PP. The one usually used for performances and also where Prince and band would jam. Then there's a second room where they can set up a lot bigger stage. Usually it is not equipped or set up as many other bands uses it for tour practices. It is certainly large enough for the LoveSexy stage. There might not be too much room for audience. It also have perfect rigging for any kind of light show any band might like. I know Bee Gees, Beck and others rehearsed their tours there. It was up for lease for any band until he died.

Ok so that expalains it. I got to look around before the Rave show but only saw the studio and rehearsal room and then the stage where he performed that show which probably is where he does most of the dance nights. I couldn't see the Lovesexy stage fitting in there so that makes sense there was another big room I didn't see. How amazing he decided to spend his money on a place like this so he could continue to rehearse and play. Way cooler than Graceland!
