For it to work, it would need the co-operation of the family to continue to house key elements of what is there right now. The aim would be to preserve it as it is - the furniture, instruments etc. Even if they continue to own them and they stay at PP on permanent loan.

Superfan celebrities and people with connections are probably a very good way for this to move forward. Someone like Questlove or L. Londell McMillan would presumably have the same interest as fans like us and could be a good front for a project like this.

this wouldn't solve the entire tax bill, but what if XYZ Corporation arranged to lease paisley park for a fee for three days - labor day weekend - at the end of august for a prince celebration??

obtain permission from the estate. offer cash up front fee.

invite: alan leeds, susannah melvoin, sheila e, and kirky j hypothetically to be our advisors coordinators? would they even be interested?

the three day event would involve:

outside:

colorful moroccan style tents set up on the grounds of paisley park for sponsors including local music merchants and other investors, food vendors and for individual artists/musicians to promote and sell their work.

price of admission to include purple discount coupons for out of town folks, featuring reduced prices at local hotels, restaurants, car rental, gas stations etc. - sponsors donate to the prince celebration

kid friendly event, so face painting, juggling, snack kiosks and such in fenced-off front portion of PP grounds. EM personnel on standby throughout.

along the eastern side of the grounds electric rennaissance fair style offerings such as troubadours wandering the grounds playing funk, busking.

small band shell for live shows? lease the parking lot across the street for live bands?

in back of PP purple paddleboat rides on the lake giggle or not.

inside:

9a - 12p 1p - 4p daily tours of paisley park

multiple touch and play kiosks with clips of prince performances

purple rain, UTCM, GB showing all day in L41A room. air conditioned 'quiet spot' for kids and parents. pillows on floor. finding nemo??

friday, saturday and sunday schedules:

9a - 12p, 1p - 4p - three hour seminars on recording and production basics in each recording studio. student pre-enrollment required. seminars led by former bandmates, class projects debut on sunday/final night dance party?

9a - 12p, 1p - 4p - instrumental/vocal music lessons by prince bandmates (various rooms in PP? soundstage?) general enrollment

6p - 9p kid friendly dance party - local DJs

9p - 2a artists showcases - live performances from prince bandmates

saturday night tribute party?

Love it. And you are the one with the legal knowledge. I don't have much money to spare but I would certainly invest in an effort to buy Paisley Park and give it the lasting legacy it deserves... I wish city or state resources would come in to facilitate this...

Love this plan XxAxX biggrin and I agree with you purplethunder3121, this type of system has been the backbone of similar projects in France / Europe where towns, local areas and regions play a massive role in funding. I also wonder if an equivalent to the European Arts Funding programme exists in the States, does anyone know. There are also some international funding programmes such as the International Fund for the Promotion of Culture (UNESCO) https://en.unesco.org/ifp...or-support, I need to read a bit further into it to find ways around eligibility, etc.

I actually thought about this other day, how we can preserve Prince's legacy. I would rather get donations to prevent Paisley Park from having to go on sale, to go towards the estate's taxes. Prince, himself, said that he was working on turning Paisley Park into a musuem, and I think, as his fans, that is something that we should honor and not make it what we would want it to be. The profits generated by Paisley Park Musuem could be donated to inner city schools music departments, #YesWeCode, etc., those causes that Prince supported. Prince also donated money to families that had suffered tragic losses, so a fund of some kind could be set up to continue to give money to those families that suffered those losses.

This was a pipe dream I had too. If all Prince fans world wide invested, could this actually happen? I am 100% positive that the true fans would run Paisley Park better than the fat cats, bureaucrats and general hangers on would. I'm also positive that (money aside) each and every one of us would bring something of value to help.

It has nothing to do with raking in cash.

You can't put thousands of owners on a deed. You can however put a PayPal donation at the bottom of the site.

To be refunded if purchase is never secured of course. Official owner would be the creator of the org but on our behalf for our benefit.

Good idea to buy it and all the magic wouldn't be gone... Think of the paint on the walls...so pretty. Whatever is screwed down into the floor and walls goes with it as well (studio).

I'll donate for sure.
No matter the ©️, Paisley Park "official can never ™️ prince. He gave that to us verbally on Oprah in 1996. You can't take prince away from us, corporate. I mean O ( + >

I will donate so long as I give the money to someone trustworthy and it remains primarily as an audio/video production facility.

Have one area to remember him. A small visitors centre.

I don't want Graceland.

I don't want some kind of youth club for teenagers to promote their own egos on Snapchat and YouTube either.

Let it live for the purpose it was designed for.

Take away his furniture, art, and clear his private quarters. Put that stuff on display elsewhere if others want to ogle.

Let Paisley Park live on as a studio complex.

So many artists in Minnesota and the whole mid-west could use the facility. Musicians. Orchestras could rehearse there. TV and film production. Please don't turn it into a mausoleum or a crèche.

Wake up please.

No, it wouldn't.

You buy a studio complex called Paisley Park, including all of the studio equipment, but none of the owner's personal effects. Hopefully you can re-hire previous facility staff after a period of redundancy.

You then sell that complex to someone whom intends to utilise that property in the purpose for which it was designed.

Sell it to Warner Bros., Sony, Disney, for media creation in the U.S. mid-west. Just don't let it get bulldozed or turned into a ghost train.

The end.

- Naive to the point of pathetic. If no one is going to step up and say what they're professionally licensed to do, and have verifiably done so ad nauseam in the real world for many years already, knock it off.

- As yet, no one vocal among this group has demonstrated somuch as the barest skill set adequate to efficiently mobilize a lawful entity to obtain the requisite permit for 1 booth at the local farmer's market, much less be the salvation for the collective purchase, preservation, operation, nor use of an icon's property of this nature.

- That being said, go for it. (?)
