I Would Die 4 U

PR was the album that made me fall in love with the man, and that song from day one always made feel some type of way. I can listen to it every single day and still have the same feelings I felt when I first played it on my Dad's record player 13 years ago.

From now on, 4 U I shall be wild 💜

"It's Gonna Be Lonely"

In the 37 years since I first heard that song, through ALL of Prince's INCREDIBLY FANTASTIC music, most of which I happen to TRULY LOVE DEARLY...my answer has ALWAYS remained the same. nod heart

Really? Most interesting!

Yep, something about the music and the vocal, it's very uplifting, I love the whole album, but I can listen to that track again and again and never get bored. I have a stripped down demo version also that is really cool, its a longer track, but I think the album version with Susan's orchestration is the best.

In fact, when I heard of Prince's passing, the first thing I did was get in my car and put it on, then repeated it as I drove home.

Although I really consider I Would Die 4 U/Baby I'm A Star to be one song, because the just complement each other so well and belong together always.

That is one of my favorites as well. I think every song but one that has been named so far I really, really like or love. And there are lot of P songs that I am not really into or even dislike, but great picks so far.

This is hard, but I'll say Money Don't Matter 2nite. Not because it's the best song, but because it helped hold my soul together while working for many years in a job that goes against my beliefs. Was the second time I fell in love with him.

Alexa de Paris (Extended).

It may seem unusual to pick a track that doesn't feature any of his vocal capabilities, but to me it's his Albatross / Watermelon in Easter Hay (and twice as beautiful as either of them).

It's also usually the first track I play when trying to convert somebody for whom he up until that point has been 'that Purple Rain guy', and it usually works.

…it's stripped down n' funky, Prince's falsetto and screaming vocals are killer, and it's sexy and fun with clever and playful lyrics.
