Arsenic poisoning? Oh for fuck sake....Yes, Colonel Mustard killed him in the pantry with the wrench!

Who knows what happened, but to accept everything that is told to us by the media as truth, and categorizing everything that is not as a conspiracy theory is exactly why the masses of the world are so easily controlled. Who knows what really happened, we will likely never know, but anything is possible until proven otherwise. In the meantime I am not going to worry about it and just enjoy the music he left us.

I've seen so many conspiracy theories here, so many people implying some hidden mystery, often alluding to something being "fishy", even with the coroner's report.

Prince's death was so many things: tragic, frustrating, sad, shocking, infuriating, but it isn't fishy.

He had years of chronic pain, became addicted to painkillers, was surrounded by yes men who enabled him, didn't believe he would die, and didn't stay in the hospital when he should have. He was alone most of the time and was alone when he died.

It's bad enough that we lost him. It magnifies the tragedy when people can't just allow reality to be what it is and not create a mystery that isn't there.

Well said! It's hard enough to accept this; I don't need to hear everyone's half-baked conspiracy theories.

i think some people struggle with the fact that Prince was just a man... as inspirational and brilliant as he was, he wasn't immune to the things that every day people have to deal with... addiction etc

i think an inability to see him in a simplistic light has many searching for some extraordinary reason for his passing

BECAUSE HE WANTED TO BE LEFT ALONE AND HE WAS A GROWN ADULT IN HIS OWN PRIVATE PROPERTY SO HE HAD THE RIGHT TO BE ALONE AND THERE WAS FUCK ALL ANYONE COULD HAVE DONE ABOUT IT. Jesus. Prince wasn't some precious little puppy that his owners had to watch carefully to make sure he didn't eat his own poop. He. Was. An. Adult.

ok you be sure you let the police know that when they start their criminal investigation. because in some states, after overdosing and dying in a hospital three days before he would have been locked up in a hospital where people would make sure he couldn't eat his own drugs...err...poop as you say. Obviously you have never been around people who have overdosed, etc...he.was.an.adult you say....with the operative word being WAS. If he wasn't "prince", he might still be alive because he wouldn't have been allowed to be alone to overdose. He would have been locked up in a rehab or psychiatric hospital which is where he obviously should have been where he could have been monitored. Some states, you lose your rights when you overdose or self harm. I don't know where you live.

The only thing we can do is beg and plead that Prince's family gives us more information. It really is up to them at this point - we have to respect that.

I've had friends who overdosed and died, you bastard. You know nothing about my life so don't presume.

If the hospital in IL had been legally mandated to keep him there, they would have. He was free to go and he went. End of story.

Please, let's try to be as civil to each other as possible. We are all each of us have. Who else understands you when you listen to a Prince track except The Purple Army here on The Org?? As you listen to that voice and music on that Prince track, you can't share your feelings with anyone except here on The Org - here, you know you don't even have to explain. Please, let's be as kind to each other as possible. We still have a long way to go. The Estate's administration will take, at bare minimum, if everything would go right, a year. We already know that will probably not be the case - the Estate could potentially go on for YEARS. In the meantime, please let's be kind to one another. We all have our own individual reasons for continuing to return here to The Org.

What we could do, as The Purple One's Army, is band together and put some pressure (gently!!!) on the family and friends that do know more information. We now know HOW, but many of us still need the WHY confirmed. (Although I think we have it mostly figured out by now.)

PLEASE be kind to one another here on The Org.
RIP Prince. We will NEVER forget you. Thank you so much.

Co-sign. It's probably the most easily explainable, by the book, non fishy death you could think of. It's remarkably simple. The only thing I think might have legs is that Prince was suffering from a different undisclosed illness beyond the chronic pain.

And a very controlling and private one at that. Everyone has to realize that in Prince world, Prince was in control and you had to love it or leave it. As far as the chef checking to see if Prince had eaten the food he'd prepared: what's odd about that? That's a perfectly normal thing to do when you CREATE something for someone else. Dude probably had to clear the dishes and just noticed "huh. that's odd. Prince hardly ate anything. Come to think of it, he's eating less and less every tiem I make something for him."

But no, it was probably arsenic poisoning because...um...why, exactly? And how fucking stupid would that be? Prince is poisoned. I'm sure no one would look at the chef under those circumstances, right? Give me a fucking break. Who the fuck would want to murder Prince and why?

This is a pretty cut and dried, simply explainable death. Occam's Razor and all that.

Who knows what happened...?

The Medical Examiner, the coroner and mostly likely the cops, the DA and, by proxy, the press. His closest friends probably know too for the most part but they're not protected by badges and law degrees.

In most communities, most of these people know each other anyway, professionally and personally in many cases, and run in the same circles. It's a group of professionals who live in the same community and cross paths a lot, especially those in a high income bracket. Doctors, lawyers, cops, journalists and, yes, rock stars. Where the hell do you think the leaks come from?

I'm not sure most people here know how this works but usually it's not a clandestine uber super secret conspiracy no matter what goes down. If anything, Prince's wealth and high profile made people keep quiet.

These people, the true players in a local town, are as prone to "gossip" and "inside information" as anyone, probably more so. They run the city and know everything. They're the fucking SOURCE of the information most of the time. They decide who gets elected, appointed and they all attend the same parties. They talk to each other off the record. Shit like that.

It's usually less complicated than people think and in this case it seems especially simple. It was a horrible accident.

Some people are covering their asses since rich people like to sue other people and also because poor people certainly like to sue rich people when shit goes wrong. If anything is "fishy", it's because these people are circling the wagons and no one wants to be number one on the list regarding the "blame game" or the first one to get sued or found out for having a "Dr. Feelgood" connection and exposed as the supplier (or a user), but it's not the fucking illuminatti or some Columbo style murder mystery or an Oliver Stone movie.

Rich people use drugs the same as poor people, probably more so since they can afford the drugs. Addiction is addiction. As an addict myself I know what I'm talking about. If Prince wasn't famous and was just another Viet Nam or Iraq veteran who OD'd in an elevator, no one would give a shit. The fact that he was famous, rich and world reknown leads some people to think that he was A Special Case and that there must be more to it.

There's not.

If anything, his wealth, his fame and his noteriety only lends more credibility to what we know, since he could not only fly under the radar, procuring meds as he needed and hide his addcition, but also never ran the risk of copping on the street and passing out in an alley or some shit. Meaning , he never had to beg anyone for a fix or risked losing his home or something.

Sorry for the rant but, lastly, I'm a little perturbed at a lot of posters here who want to want to blame someone else - Doctors, friends, enablers - for what happened and the usual anti-drug crusaders who sound like Nancy Reagan all over again. Chronic pain sufferers are going to be put under a microsope and denied medications they need to function because it's an election year and high profile celebrity died by OD'ing on pain killers.

Someone's going to pass The Prince Act and make it harder for people who suffer from pain to procure medications legally and create a whole new slew of junkies. People whoi have no understanding of addiction, drug use, pain, the spine and day to day living are going to demonize people who benefit from these drugs and paint them all with a broad brush as drug seeking dope fiends. The War on Drugs sucks. In many ways, the War on Drugs contributed to Prince's death if he ultimately resorted to fentanyl.

Again, sorry for ranting. OK for now.

The greatest musician ever dies alone in his elevator because he liked to be alone. If you spend a lot of time alone then the chances are quite large that you will fucking die alone. If Prince decides to go home and call it a night, you don't just tell him, "No, you look sick. I'm going to force you to let me stay and keep an eye on you. I agree with some others that these insinuations are laughable - but actually they are pretty out of order as well.

Prince died of a fentanyl overdose.

Accusing his chef of murdering him with poison really isn't cool. Very close to libel I would have thought.

We had Prince like all of us as surely you are born you must die. It is difficult for us to accept but yes he is physicaly gone and we cannot see or hear him however he lives in his music. Which we are blessed to have. We will never know the actual truth but the truth is we know WE LOVED HIM NO MATTER WHAT NO AMOUNT OF NEGATIVE STATEMENTS CAN TAKE THAT LOVE AWAY. No, you say, "Look, you're not looking well. After what happened last week, as your friend/someone that cares about you, I really don't think it's a good idea for you to be all alone. Let me stay close and I promise not to hover. Otherwise, I'd just be up all night worrying myself sick about you and I know you wouldn't want that, would you?"

Or

"Look man, fire me if you must but you've got a serious problem and you need some help! If you won't let me stay or help you, at least let me call somebody you would be comfortable with doing that."

In this case, just following orders very quickly resulted in being out of a Prince-related job/relationship anyway, so maybe just maybe taking some initiative out of care and concern could have had an alternate result.

You are assuming Prince's friends knew he was going to die overnight which they didn't. However, they did know he wasn't well and and had a serious problem which is why they had a doctor make a visit the very next day which they all thought was soon enough. It's just unfortunate it was still a few hours too late.

This reeks of 20/20 hindsight and likely ignores the nature of the relationship between Prince and his friends/employees. It's easy to say "I would have done THIS" but how many of us have the balls to do this even at our OWN shitty jobs with our our own shitty boss, let alone a job that pays us as well as what Prince''s staff likely made? How often do all of us know something should be done or handled differently and then just slink away and do it the way the boss wants?

And God knows, Prince was The Boss. Always.

In this case, just following orders very quickly resulted in being out of a Prince-related job/relationship anyway, so maybe just maybe taking some initiative out of care and concern could have had an alternate result.

Always.

Call it whatever you like but if they went far enough to call the doctor in Cali and pick up his son and take him to Prince's house the next day, going further by not leaving him alone is not an unreasonable thought.

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Damn it's tough to think about it like that but yeah there are quite a few folks who have some answering to do...how the fuck does the greatest musician ever die alone in a fucking elevator. Some bullshit and yes the shit is suspect to me.

The greatest musician ever dies alone in his elevator because he liked to be alone. If you spend a lot of time alone then the chances are quite large that you will fucking die alone. Mayte mentioned that her husband required a lot of time alone. Everyone knows this about Prince. I sense no bullshit except from the people who clearly don't think before they speak on such matters. If Prince decides to go home and call it a night, you don't just tell him, "No, you look sick. I'm going to force you to let me stay and keep an eye on you. Better yet, I'm going to kidnap you and force you to go to the hospital." You would very qucikly find yourself out of a Prince-related job/relationship.

Perhaps all this was actually said and was still rejected. I find it odd that there seems to be an automatic assumption that those closest to him did not try enough.

I'm willing to bet they did, even if they were also enablers at some point. By all accounts it appears that someone was trying very hard to get him some real help as fast as they could.

And most likely with the limitations that Prince was imposing on them.

Think about it, really think about it - what a nightmare situation to be in.

Hmm. Only a history of several months. Include the throat problems and those are symptoms of arsenic poisoning ... as well as anemia and joint pain. And why would he care about checking to see if Prince had eaten the food he'd made .... ? To toss it ? Jus' sayin' ...
