Am I the only one here to recognize this is not an official report? A law enforcement official who is not supposed to talk to the media, talks to the media. This is the same old same old we've been getting for several weeks. I don't trust the source and will hold judgment until the official report comes out.

yes this is just the same story again and nothing official, just speculation and rumors

If there's one thing about all this is that we owe it to Prince and ourselves to look out for ourselves and each other.

Yes. And all these media outlets jumping on the story because they are all chomping at the bit to report something like this. Sick. For the record I don't believe it and when it comes out as total BS I will be standing here going told you so.

I hate to see people in pain so I mean this from my heart
I would have rubbed princes hips for hours if it made the pain go away and no pills, I know that's unrealistic but that's how my heart hurts

I'm afraid many people will just read "drug overdose" and understand "recreational drugs". it was already the understanding of a 13 y.o. student of mine right after Prince passed.

This is very sad in all case, a natural death or terminal illness would have been unavoidable, but this... Prince could still be among us.

I don't think it means he was in so much pain at all, why do so many folks think Prince would pop these pills like they were skittles to get the pain away, when doing so is akin to suicide.

Prince was smarter than that and had a much stronger will than anyone I can think of. If anything these opiods reacted with something else imo.

Some people are more susceptible to addiction-- whether it's drugs, alcohol, etc.-- than others. Wished he recognized he had a problem and took it seriously , especially what happened the week before his death when he was unconscious from overdose and had an emergency landing. He could have entered a rehab clinic. sad

I know what you're saying, i'm making an assumption there alright. I'm sure there's a lot more to the story, it'll probably come out in time.

Speculating here, it could easily have been a total fluke overdose or overprescription on a man who wasn't used to and couldn't handle a lot of opiods. Alternatively he could have had an addiction of some sort, being smart doesn't stop people becoming addicted. You don't on or off these things by having a high IQ you know what I mean?

If the autopsy reports aren't going to be released until tomorrow, then how did the AP get this info?

I am waiting for the official report. While I do think opoids may have played a part in his passing, I think there is more to this story than what has been released so far.

Prince was smarter than this? Being a composed person and a musical genius does not make him "smart". A camel at 3am in Jan, rings a bell ? biggrin

I just can't see it. I won't lie I've taken an extra pain pill after my last back surgery cause I hurt so bad. I started getting chest pains and light headed and sweating. Scared the shit out of me. Thought I was having a heart attack. I just can't imagine him downing these things like!e that BC I'm telling g you I felt it with just one extra pill. While they played a role I just believe there is more. So like others are saying I believe we just hold off a bit till full report released. My heart hurts though BC I know what it's like to live in pain. I'm terrified Everytime i take my meds here lately.

I wish he would have gotten help sooner and slowed down. He shouldn't have been performing, he shouldn't have been flying anywhere..........Prince just didn't know how to stop :'(

I feel the same way.His health should have been a priority. But I know it would have been hard for him to stop performing.

Of course, I agree that your IQ has nothing to do with being on or off these substances. Mainly what I was trying to get at is that Prince was well aware of the dangers of this tupe of medication, and he would not knowingly put himself in an overdose situation with these.

Remember, we are talking about the same guy who didnt use cell phones because he deemed them unhealthy due to the radiation they emit. He avoided anything bad for him like the plague, be it real, or perceived.

Yeah. Addiction doesn't even have to be based upon an intake of chemicals though.

The euphoria some people feel from gambling, over-spending, or even religious ceremony can be just as addictive.
