"they have always avoided anything to do with the black aspects of Prince"...Sorry, but I have to disagree with that. Lisa was there from 80 to 86. She was involved in some of the funkiest live concerts that P did in his heyday, starting with the "Dirty Mind" tour. She also helped on some of the funkiest P tracks when asked (and The Time's first record)...And Wendy was hanging around long before she was in the band. Her and Susannah used to see P in the clubs when Gayle was playing keyboards..Wendy also said that she was on the set of the "Controversy" and "Sexuality" videos..Their work on "Parade" (and the unreleased 84 to 86 cuts) stand on their own...They both said they were really upset when P fired them.....I'm sure Wendy and Lisa would have stayed if P didn't cut them loose. To me, they were involved in the "black aspects" of P.

Linn4days

It's only going to be 15 minutes for all of those acts???

I would not expect a whole lot...

Just do a "Walk of Fame" for an entire 2 hours...

He never got one.

Someone mentioned this before, but I'd love to see them have video clips throughout the show (before commericials and coming back from them) that shows some of his best performances. Also a longer video tribute before the musicians perform. This is one thing everyone can agree with: nobody can do Prince like Prince.

Jill Scott - Sign O' the Times

I want to hear this. That would be awesome.

Jill should remake it regardless, I can almost hear it now.

Some great suggestions here. I'd like to see the Foo Fighters do an upbeat number - maybe "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man"? We know Prince liked them, since he covered "Best of You" at the Super Bowl.

I definitely wanna hear Janelle Monae do a song - maybe something different than what she has already covered at her shows ("Take Me With U" and "Let's Go Crazy"). I could see her and the band doing "Sign O The Times" or "Raspberry Beret"

I'd also love to see Bilal do a song, maybe "I Wanna Be Your Lover" or "KIss" (he has the falsetto for them).

I read an article where Foo Fighters said they didn't know Prince was going to cover them, and that he had been upset about their covering and recording Darling Nikki, and how he 'got even' by covering the Best of You and doing it better than they did. I always thought that was right because he kind of changed up the words at the end and instead of saying 'I'm your Fool" he said "I'm not a fool and then gave a side eye".

Really? Wow, that's funny lol (and I can imagine it happening that way). I still think the Foo Fighters would do a great job in the tribute, though.
