i have been in and out of anger about his death, but i long ago realized that fairness and justice are not concepts of this universe for the most part. too much bad shit happens for me to believe in either. i do hope there is an afterlife but even that seems too much to wish for. but i hope there is and he is enjoying some peace and joy after much pain and loss in this life.

right now i am mostly concerned/frustrated at the length of inquiry. i know test results take weeks, but with the massive dea raid on pp, i have a feeling there is a bad moon rising, and that there may be a criminal case(s). i also fear the autopsy results as to what it will say about what happened in the elevator and whether he was battling illness beyond chronic pain. for a while i have had a nagging that what comes out will be that there was much suffering and unpleasantness for prince. and for many of us, that will reset the clock to day one as far as grieving goes.

hang in there, i think we still have some bumpy road to travel,,.

It's not dislike of Keith. It's acknowledging that he's a swamp rat who bleeds Jack Daniels, is 100 years old & is still rockin' on. Kind of incredible that someone as pickled as Keith is still truckin', yet Prince is no longer here. It's just ironic. hammer

Guys I need your help. I know that I've reached the anger stage of grief now. No denying. I'm cynical about other performers and I think they are all jealous of Prince.

-

Right now I'm thinking, OK, let me get this straight.

-

How fair is life?

-

You mean to tell me that Alexander O’Neal, James Debarge (and others in that family), Bobby Brown, Nikki Sixx, Steven Tyler, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Jimmy Page AND Cortney Love and Liza Minelli are still walking around.

-

And Prince is dead?

-

I may love all of the above mentioned and glad they are still with us (well, most of them), it just goes to show you, you can tempt fate all you like. Some will win. And some will lose. It’s a crap shoot. Win or lose.

-

The Universe is moody. And it ain’t even funny.

Damn.

-

See what I mean?

-

How are you dealing with anger about Prince's passing? Any advice will be appreciated.

sad

Honestly, anger is not something I've felt at all. I trust in the Most High God. According to His Word, we all have an appointed time of death.

“Man’s days are determined; you (God) have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed” (Job 14:5).

As much as we all loved Prince and as hard as it is for us to accept that such a HUGE presence in music and in the world is gone, the only way to get through it is to hold on to whoever or whatever it is that you believe in. Jehovah, Allah, Jesus Christ or the universe in general. Know that the results of the events of 4/21 were already decided.

There is absolutely no dislike of Keith whatsoever. I can like a musician and still joke about them at the same time. He lived a hard life and he's still here. Kudos to him. And yes he is a great musician.

Am still very sad about his passing and miss him so much. Am angry with a couple of people on the org, people who seem to be showing Prince disrespect even after his death. Saying his legacy won't last as long as Stevie Wonder's. It's childish. Both are legends and respected outside the org too. Someone wrote that Marvin Gaye, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder are all better and Prince is not on their level well that's all opinions. This a Prince Fan site who many here love him and we have just lost him. Too much disrespect to Prince and all the above on this site. Sorry for the rant. Opinions are cool , but when it's getting silly and nasty i don't get it. This is a cool place and 99% of people are cool and lovely on this site. Sorry i went off topic and i miss Prince so much.

Your rant is relevant!!!

Isn't that amazing. I have seen alot of disrespect and not alot of support for those who are still mourning. Whether you knew him or not, Prince was a huge part of our lives and he touched each of us in our own way. That is no small feat. TI don't recall this kind of outpouring with some of the ones mentioned above. With the exception of Michael maybe, and his legacy was tainted unfortunatlely which may have affected the response. I am a HUGE MJ fan. But I can honestly say that Prince's death is affecting me more. And for longer. I should not compare, but there you have it.

Just ignore the troublemakers. I certainly do. But I know it can get you angry. Don't let them do it.

my love for Prince doesn't translate to hate for other artists

i did have a thought the other day though... music should just kinda stop for a while... i mean all music... until we reach an appropriate period of time for grieving (i don't know how long that is) the greatest musical force the world will ever see... because right now... music just seems a bit ridiculous to me... it doesn't matter any more

I feel exactly the same about music at the moment, I can't listen to anything else except Prince at the moment. For me the music stopped on the 21st

Thank u 4 a funky time

I understand that many are still suffering but my compassion is more pity. Sounds bad but perhaps I'm just lucky in that I have work which keeps me busy, hobbies, a wife and granddaughters to love and a thirst for music both old and new.

I also love gardening and now is a beautiful time to be out in it. Head down amongst the plants, nails black with soil. A garden is life encapsulated. Beauty, death, new and often unexpected life and helps me connect with the earth in a physical and also spiritual way. I don't need no church and some guy or girl telling me their interpretation of the right way: I can see with my own eyes everything that is perfect.

Ramble over.

Not angry and anyone except at Prince. And feeling really pee-ed at his laxy dazy atttiude the last week. Yes it's not right but that's just how I am feeling. Really angered is more truthful. But I know the not knowing cause of this mess has a lot to do with this. Not angry at any artists. Couldn't be. One thing I absolutely haven't been interested in are tributes. It all seems too early and out of place.

Yeah I m angry at a few things. Recently people around here. I'm only a new signed up member, been coming here for years and usually would stop because of stuff that was said. Now it's Like a connection to him I don't want to lose but... All vitriol over the tributes is just too much. I'm not going to defend Madonna, I didn't watch it because I knew it wasn't for me. It was for casual Prince fans or even non-Prince fans. I'm hurt by some of the racist and homophobic stuff I'm reading here... I just want all that to be over. We lost Prince, music is "over"- can't some of the evil in the world be over just like that as well? I feel a loneliness like I've never felt before. I'm scared for the world and there's no Prince to look forward to. It's a real bummer.

Take a break from here, take a long walk.... clear your head. it sounds like you are just trying to find things to be upset about. Prince is dead yes. Here is not anything any of us can do about it. If you are feeling that lonely, over prince, and that scared fior the world you might need some help. To add who cares about the tribute? Who cares about what people are saying about it.

the one small comfort i get in grief periods is the knowledge that the pain i feel is in close proportion to the love i feel.

so i know i can still love with depth, cuz this hurts like hell.

I too have just moved into the anger stage, but still grieving. I will tell you I know life is not fair, and I realize that BUT I am definitely angry at HOW he died! I mean he died alone in an elevator, that burns me up sad mad Now this article stating that he had possibly been deceased for at least 6 hours has just came out and that just adds fuel to the fire, salt on the wound..............but I am just trying to cope. Every single day I have listened to his music, not a day goes by, watching interviews, just every piece of him that I can hold on to..........HE SHOULD NOT HAVE DIED PERIOD.........

I was angry that complete untalented bums are still on the planet thinking they're important, & they are fucking sand. Clearly, I can get back to anger very easily falloff but I'm just trying to deal at this point sad

I did feel very angry the other day when someone close to me said something along the lines of:"Prince ripped a lot of other people's work and there was nothing really that special about him." I felt an anger blood rush and I had to leave the room. I think these kinds of people are best avoided.

Why are you upset when people have a different opinion or stance regarding prince? Why would you feel anger towards people who say ""Prince ripped a lot of other people's work and there was nothing really that special about him." If comments like that make you leave the room and make you angry I would say you are taking it too far. Why do people feel like they have to defend Prince's musical talents, you like Prince, that's all that should matter to you.
