Again interesting but again turning this into a racial stance is foolish and disrespectful. For me it is a weak thrown together tribute, similar to GaGa on Bowie because GaGa was a CBS fave and they wanted to use her down the line for something so they gave her the Bowie stage. Not really sure the where the guy who had the most racially diverse audience all of a sudden became the guy to use the race card with on social media rants.

--- Billboard made it racial when they did not ask one single black person to be in the tribute or anyone that actually worked with Prince. I said it before why could Madonna have not done this with other Prince related artist? She is not hot on the charts right now so what makes her so relevant.

Again I said the whole relevance thing does not apply because she according to what people on that show define as relevant, is not relevant neither are the two hosts who are talking about modeling contracts and movie deals what the hell is relevant to MUSIC about them? My point is simply that PRINCE worked with an array of diversity, and NONE are there, black white latino etc... NONE ZERO.

I might be wrong, but I believe both Stevie & Questlove are black. And maybe Prince related artists have more respect for themselves to appear on a god awful show -- being forced to share the stage with someone who had next to nothing to do with Prince.

Who knows. This show has as much to do with music as Greys Anatomy has to do with how a hospital actually runs.

--/ Well Stevie and Questlove were added at the last minute because they have been pushing Maddonna all week. So originally this was a whitewash. Don't you think they should have asked Stevie in the first place?

So did they ask Stevie and Questlove at the last moment because of the backlash? hmmm It wouldn't surprise me, I still haven't forgiven Billboard Awards for that horrible MJ hologram mad hmph!

Actually they should have asked his own band to honor him, third eye girl, and Judith Hill and Andy Allo, they were actually closer to him than Stevie and Quest

The point is, is that it doesn't fucking matter.

1. It is a shitshow. It is not about music. Therefore who cares whether they honor Prince or not.
2. It doesn't matter WHO they ask -- it would have been awful.

I still say that they should have stuck to my suggested line-up of tributes.

Madonna & The Weeknd - Push It Up
Justin Bieber & Celine Dion - Jughead
DNCE & Fifth Harmony - Graffiti Bridge
The Go-Gos & Shawn Mendes - 1999: The New Master
Britney Spears & Nick Jonas - Right The Wrong
Troye Sivan & Tove Lo - FunkNRoll (Kirky J & Joshua W's Epic Fail Mix)
Pink & Demi Lovato - The Flow
Ciara & Ludacris - Wedding Feast
Larry Graham & Tyka Nelson - Sister (Uncut Extended Version)

Worse, or better? Better, or worse? falloff

Im just hoping Paisley Park can give us one more "Prince: A Celebration" event this year as a memorial.. Have his former band members perform there and possibly televise the last night.

lol thinking about britney and nick jonas playing right the wrong, and the Native American protests the next morning. Also, wondering if Sinead should come back and perform Courtin' Time and then announce at the end that she wrote the song.

There will be one -- it was just announced. You have to be a member of the new club. It costs $7,000 a year to become a member. And you have to pay for the first 7 years in advance. Cost to view the show will be $312.17 -- but only if you're a member. You can attend the show for $77,793.11 -- but only if you were one of the first 17 people to become a member of the new club. There will be an "xtra" package where for $7.77 per minute, you can stream the show via AOL Instant Messenger. That way you can chat with Tyka and Larry throughout on compuserve.

That would be amazing. I would absolutely have to travel for that. It would actually be nice if the estate could come together along with his various band mates, protégés, etc and have celebrations in major cities each year on his bday and donate the proceeds to music education or something. They could even stream it online for a small fee.

Personally, they can have this BS. It's the most uninspring tripe...I'm even beginning to wonder, did Prince spoil me forever to other music? But then I realize, no, there is other music out there that I feel when I hear it. It's just that now it's inconsistent, whereas it used to be that I'd hear something that srtuck me from other artists all the time. But this crap...my son even asked "who is this daddy, they stink!" when DNCE was playing, and I felt embarrassed for Gwen Stefani. She looked so plastic and sounded even more so. I remember seeing her with No Doubt back in the day and thinking, damn, her presense is awesome. Now, she's just a part of Hollywood.

I would much rather see a tribute put together by people that know Prince intimately; musicians that worked with him, peopel that worked with/for him, etc.

Yup. All awards shows are shit shows! Ive worked them in the past. Mostly politics. Mostly whitewashed. Mostly all greed and money and not about the music to fans. A shit show. Rem lyrics in DMSR....

Yeah, it was a song she did with Massive Attack, which they, themselves, can be a snoozefest.

Don't worry, it will be able to be found via torrents within an hour of the show ending. Your computer will probably detect it as a virus though and delete. You could ask the DVR to record an hour longer...

But the news won't cut it off. Unfortunately. That would be some kind of miracle. Make it so it never airs. Great idea, violectrica!

Yup they are saving for last. I bet credits will rolled over and cuts off before song end. Much disrepect indeed confused
