Thank you SpinsterSister. I had to convince the Mods (who are great people - and spend a LOT of time overseeing this website!) that there are fans of Prince's that are concerned about the administration of his estate. Court documents can be rather dry to read. But, I thought that by having one main thread for the court administration of the Estate that it would be easier for people to find. I have worked in estate settlements for years, and I know what people go through (having lost some of my own family members over the years also), and I know that this helps people heal. I am just trying to help.

We can't do anything to help Prince now. We have to accept that. I know most of us just ache to be able to turn back the clock so that we could do something to help Prince, but no matter how much we wish, it just cannot be done. But what we CAN do is keep aware and watch the administration of his estate. I heard Prince tell of his love for Minnesota. We can't do anything to help Prince now, but we can: make sure to remember him, share our love for his music with others, and make it clear to the Court that we are concerned about this because it is important to us.

I know there are bad apples everywhere. But the great majority of people that I have worked with in various probate courts are hard working people, and I am trusting that they will do their best to handle Prince's estate respectfully.

If anyone hears anything about the progress of the administration of the Estate, and you see that I have not posted it yet, please feel free to do so. This is a massive estate, but we are a massive Purple Army, and if we all together do our best to keep our eyes and ears open, and report to each other, we can respect Prince's legacy.

RIP Prince. We will NEVER forget you. Thank you so much.

The most loving thing a person can do is file at least a will or better yet a trust and plan ahead because we are all destined to leave this earth. I really hope that a will or trust is found and I hope they are smart enough to check his other properties for it because this mess can all be settled awful quick, although if there is a will, I am sure there will be some who will contest it. I am still in denial myself but the legal system really intriques me as I've been through 2 years of crap dealing with it. I look forward to the updates and posting about them here.

EDIT: She says PAUL NEWMAN is Prince's father! And hers, too! falloff Man oh man.

MORE EDITS: The list of who she says fostered her over the years is incredible. Paul Newman. Joanne Woodward. Janet Leigh. Various members of the Disney family. Brian Keith.

Why are people allowed to file these claims? It is obvisoulsy not true. Isn't it illegal to file false court documents? What am I missing?

The glorious thing about our country is that ANYBODY can file a lawsuit. It is a totally different ball of wax to get your case accepted and then onto the very long road to actually being heard in court. If it were not so easy to file, imagine all the crap that could go on without any recourse for the ones who felt wronged or truly violated. I am amazed as well at the sheer gall of some people, are they doing it for their 15 minutes? Do they have underlying mental health issues (no slam, I deal with it) that makes them truly believe they are related? Amazing what a will/trust could have done to curtail this and this is a valuable lesson to all who read this thread.

my edit didn't make it in my last post.So this girl was concieved around July 1972, which is when Prince was 13.1 years old. If memory is correct, wasn't he out of the house when he was about 12? She was born on 4/14/73 which would've made Prince's age at the time of her birth at 13.10 months. Hmmm, now accordingly Prince was thrown out by his father because he was caught with a girl in his bed, but Prince said, no, they were not in bed but they were in his room with the door open. He was 13 years old he was a skinny 5'0" little boy, not even in high school - they are making that kid into a sex god at such a young age. If this proves to be true (cough, cough) this woman's mother should be charged with statutory rape of a minor child.

Well, we've got people on the org who don't seem to believe Prince and Bowie are dead, so I say we invite her on over. At least her mind can link up images and sound. Looks like she'll meet the standard here.

If one believes the documents filed this week with the Carver County Minn. court overseeing the distribution of Prince's estate, he had far more secret children, unknown siblings and distant cousins than anyone dreamed....."

The longer it goes on, the better the attorneys do..... with their fees. It's not the fees of the Probate Court that are so expensive - the court fees are usually just a few hundred dollars. It's the attorneys' fees that drive up the expense - and what those people that sell trust schemes have everyone afraid of - they say: "oh probate, probate, probate - be afraaaid of probate". Actually the fees of the Probate Court are minimal.

Do you want to keep the lawyers' fees down and to the minimum? Then everybody get along and agree on everything. (Which I don't think is going to happen here.)

I will now climb down from my soapbox (...for today).

PRINCE ESTATE MAY SOON BE IN
CAPABLE HANDS

Rumors are swirling that L. Londell McMillan and Charles Koppelman will be working closely with the Prince estate. Though he had an on-again, off-again professional relationship with Prince, McMillan served as the musical trailblazer’s attorney and knew him for some 25 years. Koppelman first signed the Purple One at EMI for theEmancipation triple album (on the artist’s own NPG imprint) after Prince’s contentious “slave” era with Warner Bros. That relationship was short-lived, lasting for only one record.

McMillan and Koppelman are pros; nonetheless, some observers believe the relationship will be short-lived.

I saw this story on a gossip blog a few weeks ago. The story on the blog was that Prince got caught by his dad with an older woman who was actually his dad's girlfriend. I thought it was bull when I read it and I am wondering if this woman read the same story and decided in her crazy ass mind that she is the product of this stituation.

At this point I hope everyone has their DNA test completed by June 27th which is the next hearing.

Let's all hope that this woman is not his daughter has a whole new scandel is going to be opening up.

some poor legal assistant is going to have to print all that out and file it. and potentially, some attorney somewhere will have to try to make enough sense of it to venture a counter argument, and possibly somewhere a judge will have to sit through a hearing on the matter. neutral smile

Only one CD with EMI because the company was sold a year later and Koppelman was out of a job.
