I am posting this in case anyone is interested specifically in the general progress of the administration of Prince's Estate. In doing so, I hope I am helping fans heal. Anyone who feels led to help in this thread may do so - comments are also welcome.

What if John was not his real father? Would that mean that the half-siblings from that side of the family get nothing because they are not his blood relatives?

eek

Dr. Roskco Motes filed paperwork with Carver County Court in Minnesota this week, claiming that he is Prince’s half-brother and asserting that he and the late singer share a father. However, Motes does not claim to be the son of Prince’s dad, John Nelson!

Haywood Nelson Sr. is my father. He passed away on November 15, 2005,” Motes’ affidavit heirship says. “According to my father, Haywood Nelson, Sr., he is the [real] father of Prince Rogers Nelson.”

I agree. Someone claiming to be his son, even if it turns out he is should not get Prince millions. He had no clue he had a son, had no bond to this person. They were strangers to each other.

I second, third that sentiment. I actually lost a little sleep over it. It would be like "theives in the temple" I would rather it go to his sister who would protect the music and his wishes. That's my chief concern, money is just money, but his music was so important to him and to his fans, and if the rights went to people who are just out for a buck, well the thought of it makes me physically ill.

???

- Or, he was very well aware of the possibility and/or fact that he did have biological children and/or eligible family members wherever, and DID want them to inherit IF they wanted to come forward at a time such as this, and IF it was not contrary to other contractual agreements that may have been in play between those pertinent parties.

- He was very well aware of what, who, how, and when he wanted this to come to fruition.

- Please "get physcially ill" over blindly judging someone else and their choices publicly.

We are indeed concerned about the future of Prince's legacy. Thank you for your clarification. A lot remains up in the air as claims of possible heirs, the search for the will, who is considered a relative, etc. are all unresolved.

Question:

As most of us know, there are vaious auction houses offering Prince's worn costumes, shoes, jewelry and even demo and master tapes...with Warner Brothers entering into his estate litigation, what will happen to those people who smartly purchased those master references? Can WB sue to get those back or as long as they have one in their posession will they not pursue it?

I think about all that Prince has created- I can't imagine it all landing in the hands of someone in jail or wherever. I want someone that was close to Prince to 'take care of' what he left behind. I know I am prematurely judging here but I just so wish so many things about this whole situation were different. (Starting with Prince still being alive...)

The administration of an estate is more than dealing with a decedent's assets - it also covers the debts of the estate. PP is a business. We have no idea what debts and/or obligations PP and/or the Estate has to deal with. We don't even know yet how many ways they may be dividing up the Estate. This is not the time to create panic. The Judge has appointed an administrator for this estate. We need to give time to do their jobs. It takes time - and I speak from hands-on experience. There is a massive, complicated estate here. We need to let the probate court, etc. do their jobs.
