This is a smear campaign against Prince Rogers Nelson and his legacy.

I can believe that but what is the motive? Who would want to smear him?

Surprise, surprise.

At least there was no mention of lasers, like in the case of Michael Jackson.

I think you hit the nail on the head Donnyenglish!

Wait, how in the hell do you know any of this? How do you even know if there was any drugs at all?

This is a smear campaign against Prince Rogers Nelson and his legacy.

1. If Prince had the amount of drugs up at Paisley Park that the DEA is up there now processing and he released the political type songs he has been releasing for the last 20 years they would have busted him a long time ago. It's no way in hell they would let him do that.

Look at what happened to Ray Charles after he refused to play in Georgia. He got busted coming back into the country.

I believe 100% that he was on pain meds because of disease and his ailments so I am not dismissing that he got meds vis a vis false names. You can only buy on box of 24 tablets of cold meds where I live for fear of people making crystal meth. With current restrictions on doctors precribing pain meds I am certain they are trying to find out where these percocets are coming from.

2. If Prince was in a "life threatening" situation why was there no one supposedly at Paisley Park that night?

3. Dr. Drew said one night this week that he didn't believe that the drugs was the cause of his death and that a medical issue is the underlying cause BUT no one was there that night?

4. People around Prince did not see an addict that was on the verge of death in Atlanta. I have worked around addicts and people who are at the point where they "look" like they were addicts yet no one said he was looking like he was in withdrawal.

Yet we are looking at DEA running 20 cars up to PP, all of this media speculation, all of these press leaks, and NO WILL. Michael Jackson, Whitney, and now Prince super drugged out loons.

Other rock stars crickets.
Rap stars rapping about trapping but no DEA running 20 cars up to the trap house???

That should be sending off red flags to everyone who claim to have a love for this man.

keep going...i dont think they hear you...

I'm also wondering...why the DEA nearly THREE WEEKS after his passing?? This seems very odd.

Prince was about light - love - and health, and even if he made extraordinary efforts to keep his private life PRIVATE, I am not inclined to believe he would be hoarding prescription drugs under various names and playing doctor by self-medicating, unless we are talking about his diet.

Seriously, LOTS of things don't add up.

Still holding to my theory that an autopsy will show an adverse reaction to a combination of medications, or a viral infection, or a sudden heart attack.

"I gave my love, I gave my life, I gave my body and mind..." - P
Thank you for the gifts - we will all meet again, dear Prince.

Don't get it twisted. All I'm saying is when someone is suffering from chronic pain and the only thing that helps are the pain pills the doctor prescribes, and they build a tolerance they need more. For pain. Not for recreation.

Why are dangerous, addictive medicines so regularly prescribed, easily accessable and socially acceptable?

Have you or someone close to you ever suffered from chronic pain?

I suffer from chronic pain from a documented injury and I have a really hard time getting any relief because I don't have money and am not well connected. So I go to the doctor and they suggest yoga and Advil. They won't give me anything stronger because "you know the DEA is crackng down" so I suffer most of the time and I'm pretty unproductive because a side effect of pain is being really depressed, crabby, and uninterested in stuff I used to do. i don't get to do the job I love because of it either so...

What's the moral of the story? Prince's chronic pain was ok to medicate him to death but mine not so much? I haven't given the world a tenth of the things Prince has, why are they so worried I'll get strung out and or OD but Prince is Prince and stubborn and rich so let's load him up with whatever? I'm confused why we keep losing genius and my sorry ass is still here just trying to survive while my cost of living is sky rocketing and my pay doesn't? The whole thing is really pissing me off. Kirk apparently has a LinkedIn profile?!? What the hell for? Why on Earth does Kirk Johnson, right hand man to Prince need a LinkedIn? One that says he's the Paisley Park Estate Manager --- RED FLAG? Is he the "dr" as Prince referred to him at PP the weekend after the plane, is he the trainer, the bodyguard, estate manager, enabler, drug runner, drummer, close "friend" and associate. All of the above? I don't want to believe none of it either.

It is at the very least, very curious.

really? this is kind of a stretch, dontcha think? he had a LinkedIn profile, therefore he's suspect? How in the world is that a red flag? This is all that's needed right now; internet sleuths claiming that this or that person is suspicious or "red-flagged" because he has the audacity to have a LinkedIn profile while working for Prince.

It just struck me as odd that he would need a LinkedIn profile in the first place. If you don't find it strange that's cool. To me it seemed like a way to position himself in the event there's no paperwork defining who is who or does what for the estate / company. Are there such documents?

I'm saying that if you found and illegal way to get pain medication I would understand and not condemn you for it. I'm saying that if a friend or family member helped you because they didn't want you to suffer I would understand and not condemn them for it. I'm saying that seeking relief from chronic pain does not make the sufferer a bad person. I'm asking why the only relief from such pain is so dangerous. I'm asking if perhaps we shouldn't be quick to judge Kirk as a murderer.

I get it. I suffer from chronic migraines and have just lost my job of 10 years due to missed work. Nothing that has been prescribed to me helps and much of it adds to the problem with adverse side effects. The only relief I've ever had prescribed is pain medication that is dangerous and addictive which I am unwilling to use. All I can do is avoid bright lights and other triggers and smoke cannabis for the pain. I don't live where cannabis is a legal option but I don't give two shits for the law, I care only about safe pain relief.

There has to be a better, safer way of treating pain. In the meantime the pharma companies who make the stuff that probably killed Prince get rich off it and will not be prosecuted in court or the media.... Go figure.

Of course it wasn't natural causes. My point is that the anger and suspicion directed at those who were close to Prince, not to mention the sentiment that someone needs to go jail over this, is misguided and over the top.

This may very well have been a preventable tragedy, but that doesn't mean a crime was committed.

You're totally right. And I wouldn't say he was a murderer, but definitely reckless if he was helping. People are like oh it was Prince making the demands and if you didn't let him have his way you got fired. That to me is a poor excuse. Kirk had other endeavors to fall back on so he could have easily said yo dude you need help and I'm not doing this anymore. Or at all. In the first place. And sure Prince could have just found someone else to do it. A co-dependent relationship perhaps, but seriously how the situation with MJ wasn't at the forefront of everyone's mind enough to be more careful is beyond me.

Lots of people had to walk away from Prince for various reasons.

I'm sorry if anything I posted made it sound like I was directly blaming Kirk. The original post made it sound like there was evidence to support that. It's possible that was a deliberate leak to get people talking. Suddenly there were posts about that, and the egg... And from that people here posted that people who were at the memorial in LA were talking about his enablers.

Social media is very well engineered.

Why is it we never heard "Drug Stories," about Prince until he died? Surely if he was using for years someone would have leaked it long before now. People should not blame anyone, until there is solid proof of wrong doing or any type of criminal element.

Next thing you know, people will be reporting that Prince had drugs smuggled inside purple banannas so no one would notice.

True or false, the stories were there.

The oft-repeated tale about him joining Michael Jackson and James Brown on stage always came with the detail that he was supposedly high at the time.

His 1996 overdose and hospital dash was also published in at least three books. This was put down to wine and aspirin I believe, but most people would take that with a pinch of salt. Personally, given his height/weight and supposed eating/sleeping habits, I wouldn't have dismissed that as completely impossible, the way I would with just about any other rock star. But at the same time, the odds would favour stronger substances.

Even the hip stories go back way further than the 2009/10 dates now being mentioned. I can't remember when I heard about it, but 'hip replacement' on a very healthy and youthful looking man seemed too bizarre not to be true. And I remember watching him closely at the 2007 O2 gigs to see if he looked like he was struggling. And I have to admit that I ended up concluding that his hips were probably fine!

I have a hard time with them not uh ...here in Florida it's called "baker act" anyways baker acting prince in that hospital in moline if he took an overdose. COME ON...who gets to walk out of a hospital after taking an overdose. NOBODY. I know of people who have been baker acted in florida for saying they couldn't take it anymore cause their insurance wouldn't cover cancer treatment. THAT WAS ALL IT TOOK. That means the hospital in Moline should have FORCED prince to go to a psychiatric hospital. Or stay there if they had a place for him to go. You can't just WALK OUT after taking an overdose WHO DOES THAT?

I don't know the laws in Illinois or Minnesota specifically (or Florida, for that matter), but in Ohio, and many other states, you can absolutely walk out of the hospital, unless you are under a 72 hour hold (in Ohio they call it a "pink slip"). If the hospital feels that someoen intentionally overdosed and that they are likely to do it again if discharged, then yes they would be forcibly held at the hospital. If, however, the hospital feels that the patient accidentally overdosed, then they would still most likely want to keep the patient hospitalized for a couple days, but if the patient wants to leave then they cannot legally be held against their will.

There is nothing easy about the issues Prince was dealing with. There aren't going to be any easy answers. There are going to be regrets. But in the end I believe it's going to be a sad, senseless tragedy. Perhaps others will learn something from this. I'm still heartbroken that Prince had to lose his life in order to remind folks to use their common sense, as well as a wake up call to have the balls to dish out some tough love to a someone they claim means more than the world to them. His supposedly best friend's quick disappearing act is the most upsetting of all right now. They could have or should have hired strangers then to do what they couldn't do for him. Personally, I would have "baby sat" him for free, but that aside I feel like there were many other options that weren't even explored for keeping him safe and well.

I just hope the reports come back "natural causes" and they find nothing damaging at PP, unlike Jackson who had weird shit and child pornogrpahy..."so called "art" books

Also keep your house clean and in order.

But all these rumors, smears, false fake freinds, etc JUST SUCK. Prince deserves so much better, he acutally made the world a better place. RIP Purple Yoda.

I agree!

I am still trying to get my head around how Prince could die from overdosing on Percocet. I know people that have been putting a lot more shit into their bodies than that and, to this day they still walk among us. Have you read what MJ was taking at the end of his life? He had stuff to keep him awake, stuff to help him sleep, stuff to counter the side effects of the other stuff, stuff for pain. What about Ozzy? That guy would take anything he could get his hands on for years and years, yet he is still here. The body can take a hell of a lot of shit before it says enough is enough, so how on earth does a Percocet dose kill Prince? I can only think that his body was weakened to such an extent that the meds were what tipped the balance. Maybe he overworked himself. Maybe he did have an underlying illness. Maybe he deliberately took too much. I dunno. But when the likes of Steven Tyler can still walk amonst us with the abuse they inflicted on their bodies, I cant help feeling something else was at play. Im not trying to play down the seriousness of opioid addiction how dangerous these prescription drugs can be, but for a fit and healthy person to OD on a pain medication without any other factors coming into play is not an easy thing to do.
