Prince really lived in his own world. Not too healthy on the one hand although good for creativity. Not participating in general life mundane things like time, schedules, drinking water etc is probably why he just never though about death or freak accidents (stroke, heart attach) or anything weird. Maybe that's what living with security guards in public does.

I also wonder if he only bought back his music rights from Warner in 2014 if he wasn't just tired of all the fighting and thinking about the future and just therefore never thought about getting a will. It's just all so strange.... But not sleeping, drinking water, eating... no wonder he was so thin.

Identity

The reporter indicated Prince offered seriously retouched photos as opposed to sitting for a photo shoot. I think possibly that was the last bit of a headache that made the magazine cancel the cover story.
