I picked up the Newsweek special ($10.99) & People today, passed on US Magazine & some trashy crap called In Touch or something with a bullsht cover story about murder (PASS). Didn't see any of the other mags posted here...

I went to the grocery store 2 days ago and I didn't see any either, but my mom went today and says she saw several.

I want to buy a mag specifically dedicated to P, not one where they put a few pages of him and they move on to other news. If any magazine does a completely issue to Prince only then I would really appreciate it if someone would keep me informed. I will be getting money soon and I want to spend it carefully.

The Newsweek Commemorative Edition is nice (but expensive $10.99). Nice cardstock cover, entire issue dedicated to all aspects of Prince. I like Top Prince Screams article, they note the exact times in each song where you can hear the one they're talking about. I think it's worth it.

I went out this morning and that's the magazine I got, I hadn't even read your response yet haha. It is a bit expensive but I kept in mind that it could've been more expensive ($20-$30) and this magazine is all Prince. People magazine was nice but it only had like 4 pages dedicated to him. Another magazine barely mentioned him although he was on the cover mad , I think it was Us

And then there was the magazine that you mentioned in another post with the bullshit murder story.

I got Newsweek, People and US.

People and US are wastes but I knew that going in.

Was looking for the Vanity Fair and Entertainment Weekly but they had this summer movie preview issue instead.

Also waiting for Rolling Stone and TIME. I hope TIME does one they did a splendid Michael Jackson and they rushed that sucker too.

That was well-written prose.
The Economist is always well-written.
Loved how it started with "so sexy, freedom" and talked all the ways he wanted to be free, then ended with how "being bound to music" is even sexier than being free.
Nice tribute.

Apologies I didn't see the sticky before starting a new thread. I bought the Newsweek issue and loved that the org was metioned...in fact an entire section about Prince's screams and credit was given to an orger and the site is mentioned...

On page 83 controversy99 is given credit for the "Scream Machine" article from a 2 year old thread.

I live in Texas.

I just bought them for face value at shop.startribune.com

They also sell the other Startribune specials on Prince for face value. Do NOT buy on Ebay while you can get them from the source.

If you live in Texas I suggest to go to the local store. I bought at LEAST 20 magazines.
