When he came to the "Hood" and did a Aftershow when the Musicology Tour came to Dallas, TX and he walked by so close with his entourage. It was intimate and close, It was like you could see Music just coming out of him!!!

He looked at me in my little purple and gold handkerchief dress (profile pic). I screamed "I could never take the place of ur man" to him for the encore. There were black lights so I held up my bright pink lily pulitzer bag, glowing above my head so he could see me. He smiled and played it. It was so perfect since my husband couldn't be there being that he died the previous June 6th. With 2 babies no less. Insane happy tears. First time I was happy during my pathetic widowhood. My baby Iris shares a June 7th birthday with Prince. A hard birthday because of our sadiversary on the sixth.

Prince was my favorite person I never knew.

This is so sweet. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, so many. Most I have shared here at some point. Favourites that come to mind:

First gig, 16 years old, front row, Parade, Prince and the Revolution. Curtain pulled back ("I think I wanna dance!"). First thing that hit me was his size and his smell. It was like a little perfumed topless action man.

First contact. SOTT Utrect 87. I followed the tour and on the way to the venue, pouring rain, having slept in the park overnight, Prince pulled up on the way to the second gig, wound down the window on the limo and said "I've seen you. You wet?". Me "Soaked, are you going to give me a lift to the stadium?" Prince, "Do you buy bootlegs?". Me, "Yes, I love them". Prince, "Wrong answer". Me, "Wrong question". Prince laughs, and says "What should I have said"? Me, "Don't get my seat all wet". Shared smile, he wound and the window and drove on across the stadium car park.

1995. Emporium Night Club after show. Mayte crowd surfed and it nearly fell through. I ended up holding her up by a butt check (in her gold leotard). Prince saw it and gave me a scowl. Then a smile.

1993 - I turned up at Paisley Park for the first time. Average morning and the gate was open. So I decided, I'm 3,000 miles from home, I may as well try my luck and walked in, expecting security to stop me before I got to the front door. I walked in like I owned the place, no security at the door but Prince and the NPG sitting are on the atrium seating. P said, I'm sorry, you can be in here, we are rehearsing, got up and politely showed me the door. My friend who came with me was waiting by the car out on the road and said, what happened? I said I just got evicted....by Prince.

2014 - Prince plays 2 gigs in one night at Koko London. As usual, planning was a disaster. I was in the queue all day for the first gig, but everyone was being evicited for those coming in for the second. I didn't want to miss out so I spotted a merchanising table with a velvet floor length table cloth. I dived under and hid, laying still. I was on my back and thought, "I'm 44, a Company Director and I'm hiding under a table on a Sunday night. I need to rethink my life". When I ventured out and went into the main room, There was me and two other people, and Prince was doing a soundcheck on his own. He chatted, laughed, and said, we gotta go. Ironically, I didn't stay, as my friends hiding elsewhere had been found and I didn't want to do it without them.

2007 - A bit drunk at the final 21 Nights in London aftershow, Amy Winehouse had just been on with Prince. I was hanging at the back (the bar) and went to the toilet. I came out, worse for wear, saw a lady coming out of the female toilet and said, 'Hi, Amy, you're great". She walked on. It wasn't Amy, it was Corrine Bailey Rae.

There are loads of others, but my favourite?

1985. 15 year old me, who discovered Prince with the Purple Rain singles, but my first album purchase was Around The World In a Day, April 22nd. I took it home, put the turntable on and listened to the album 3 times in a row, studying every inch of the gatefold vinyl sleeve. They day I fell in love with the power of Prince's music.

1987 - SOTT Tour in Paris. My first Prince concert and the best concert i've seen in my whole life. It was like a dream, like being in another world, i've never felt this emotion again, Prince was at his best and i feel so lucky for being there.

1988 - Lovesexy Tour in Paris again. A really BIG show with lots of effects, probably the last Prince gigs of this kind, because it must have been really expensive.

Adorecream

2nd show in Auckland, Feb 24th this year, Prince looks at me smiles and starts playing Adore. The look on his face was priceless, I nearly fainted.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Aftershow on the morning of 14 September '07 at Indigo O2; I went to the 13 09 concert (which was incredible) and had tickets to the aftershow too, hoping he would play it. I remember waiting and waiting in Indigo. We had a great spot, right next to the stage, and I just had a feeling he would be there. I'll never forget the moment he suddenly appeared on stage - I was awe struck. He was incredible, he played some of my favourite songs too and a few of us even got to get up on the stage to dance at the end. I remember climbing the stage steps up to where Prince was standing. My heart was beating so fast! [Edited 4/27/16 16:19pm] [Edited 4/28/16 0:00am]

That was a great aftershow, loved that one. The main show was pretty cool that night too, wasn't that the night Elton John came up and subg with him? So many great memories of that summer. I got so lucky with the aftershows, went to 9 and Prince played 7 of them!

RIP sad

I was up at the back at that aftershow too, leaning against small barrier behind the sound desk. I figured it would be a place where the sound would be good. What a show.

Around The World In A Day was the first Prince album I bought on day of release too, although I already had Purple Rain, and I did exactly the same thing.

The first time (of three) that I saw him in concert.

I was a grown man - in middle age, frankly - and my legs were trembling like I was 14 or something when he first came out on stage. This was in 2003; one of the highlights of that show for me - as a TRC fan - was when he said towards the end "I couldn't leave you without some of the Everlasting Now" - which he proceeded to play.

We never met, but he gave me memories to last a lifetime.

Renting the Sign "O" The Times concert film on VHS when I was a teenager. I could not sleep on the following night, because I couldn't believe how good this guy was or how good music could possibly get. I kept renting it many times before I found a used copy.

Singing with him; wathching him and my daughter sing my favorite song ever in front of 20,000 people.

But you know what's also cool? How he made people feel.

I tear up listening to fans on bootleg concerts. For instance, the girl who says "I can die now. I'm ready"after the "Purple Rain" performance in LA in 2014. Or the Orger who asks Prince to play "I Like It There" (also in LA, in 2007) and Prince does. The Orger's reaction is spine-tingling. Or the guy in the crowd who realizes that Prince is playing The Car's "Let's Go" in NYC and just loses his s***. So awesome.

My moment was only recently. In Feb I begged and borrowed my way from Perth to Sydney to go to the Opera house show. I could only afford the one show but I got the best seats I could (lower balcony, second row).

On the night I put on this long bright pink dress, I wore my glistening purple trench coat and put a mass of flowers in my hair. I wanted to be joyous cause this meant so much to me. I basically stood out like a sore thumb.

When I took my seats I cried, the view was incredible.. And no one say in the row infront. I had an uninterrupted view.

The show I stood, I sang, I clapped.. I showed my joy so openly.

After all the encores, I was overwhelmed by what I had experienced that I wanted to show my appreciation to Prince. So I blew a big wide two handed kiss towards the stage. The next moment I will never forget, Prince looked straight up at where I was standing and blew a kiss straight back.

I'm sure that many people would say 'your imagining things' but I swear our eyes met. I felt for a tiny moment he saw that this unimportant 30 something from Perth loved him and maybe he had show'd me a tiny bit of love back.

Now excuse me whilst I go cry in a corner for a while.

ERINAMONDO

So many memories from arenas, to Paisley Park, to the Dakota, 2nd date with my husband at the Mill City Music festival and dancing to Purple Rain on a beautiful summer night.

But, nothing tops the day 2 years ago, when, on my way to the Arboretum with my daughters and my sister following, I decided to stop at my favorite co-op "Lakewinds" in Chanhassen to get a snack on the way. We were there for longer than I wanted to be as once I was done, my sister decided to run in to, so I waited out in my car. Once everyone was ready, I was leaving the parking lot, when this little black sports car is going way too fast, taking a really wide turn, is in my lane and barreling towards me! He slows down and corrects and I thought, "Let me see what kind of A-hole drives like this.." I look up and it's none other than the man himself! I slammed on my breaks and am basically hyperventilating at that point, my daughter in the passenger seat, asks what's wrong and I'm screaming, "That was Prince, that was prince!"

By now he has zoomed past me and circled around to the front of the store where he tries to park parallel to the front curb, but rolls up on to in it instead. He corrects and pulls forward and just parks. I knew that if I ever had a chance to say something to him, this was the moment. I just said "F - It! nothing to lose!" I pulled up next to him, he had his tinted window, cracked just by an inch. I leaned over my daughter and yelled "Can I just say Hello?" He rollled his window down! My mind is blank and all I could get out was "Your my favorite person in the world" and he said "Who, her? " pointing to a gorgeous 25 year old in the passenger seat. I said "you're my favorite and your at my favorite store." I think he thought I was done, because he started rolling up his window and then I started again, and he rolled it down again, and I just kept babbling I love, your music, etc." I realize now what an idiot I sounded like, but I was in the moment and I basically had no control of what I was saying. I finally decided I should drive off so I wouldn't scare him. I love that he let me profess my love for him, and he rolled his window down for me. That was one of the best moments of my life.

I remember waiting inside Celtic Park (28th June 1992) for ages before the show started. There was a loop of statements on big screens, the only two of which I remember are "Carmen is inevitable" (she wasn't, the support that night was Shakespears Sister, who were awful) and "England Rocks", which was greeted with boos of increasing volume as the ground filled through the day.
