The Family are going to release something on Wednesday.

Being a fan like many of us here (from the early years) which is 1981 for me, I agree with the Sentiment that I also have no desire to hear random musicians pay tribute to Prince by doing his songs.
He hated that.
Now, seeing the people he loved d and were part of his journey pay tribute? YES.
From Morris and the Time to Sheila to The Revolution, I'd love to see that.
Don't know if I'll make it to Minneapolis, but I certainly will do my best.
I'm grateful this site had been here for so long. It's good to be connected with real fam.

KCMP, and others, will air Prince's recording of "Nothing" at exactly 5:07 p.m. CT (6:07 ET/3:07 PT) tomorrow. Why that moment? It marks "7 hours and 13 days" since Prince'sApril 21 passing, referencing the song's famous opening lyric. "It's been 7 hours and 13 days, since you took your love away," Prince's version begins. "I go out every night and sleep all day, since you took your love away …"

I'm considering going, but it's going to be a madhouse. I want to hear what Morris and the band have to say and perform, but traffic alone is going to be nuts

The weather forecast calls for showers, coupled with the fact that downtown traffic sucks, means I couldn't make it if I wanted to. confused

L.A. peeps, if you're anywhere near the metro red line, just get off at the Civic Center/Grand Park station.

This Pitchfork story mentions a planned June 7th tribute in Brooklyn, NY.

"Spike Lee reportedly said to those in attendance that a Brooklyn memorial to Prince would be held on June 7, which would have been Prince's 58th birthday."

Dang it. Why aren't they doing it on his birthday? That is what I requested off from work. And it means more. This sucks! It's hard to get August days off.

It makes me happy to know Prince had a place to be spiritual and with a community of followers in this faith that respected his presense. I'm happy he had that. It probably gave him some happiness and peace.

This was an error. Meant to post this in the JW memorial post.
