Oh shit, an HD live version of Electric Chair... Definitely recording this and saving it. Great show, great tribute.

I'd never seen that clip. Phenomenal! Magic.

I was hoping they would have showed the Billy Crystal/We Are The World skit. That was pretty funny.....Does anyone know who the woman was singing background (next to Levi) during "Electric Chair"?

Watched this last night. So glad to now have an HD version of the Electric Chair performance as mine was just VHS quality before. One of my favourites.

I never noticed the "SUPERSTAR!" quote at the end of Beautiful, Loved & Blessed. So funny.

It was clear how much Jimmy Fallon loved him. It's true, how many people have claimed their own colour?

Does anyone know if this program missed out any performances?

.

If so, what would have been a full list of SNL performances?

.

Thank you.

Personally... I feel that it was Saturday night, and on NBC, Saturday nights belong to SNL. Not to SNL, AND The today show, AND the tonight show. Both of those shows each have their time slot that they have OWNED for decades. Let them do them and let SNL do SNL. Also...those shows have ALL week...SNL has ONLY Saturday. Y'all just being greedy...and I understand that. But look at it this way. If the Today show does their montage, and then the tonight show does their montage we have three separate big montages versus one big montage...yeah? [Edited 4/24/16 5:57am]

But then again it seems like SNL has taken over 6 nights a week with Jimmy Falon on the Tonight show and the horrible Seth Myers late show.

Yes...Lorne produces ALL of NBC's late nights. Still, SNL is SNL and TTS is TTS, and Seth Meyers is...well let's pretend he isn't.....can we? They're separate entities.

I wish Questlove had hosted it instead of Fallon but it was pretty great. I don't think the skits should have been included. They were not funny and I don't think people are ready to laugh yet. At least not us real fans.

I watched with a friend and stopped the Let's Go Crazy performance. I really am not in the mood for SNL's sketches...well, ever, but especially not now.

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I came to this site; let alone how along I've posted on it. I used to come here before the fans began to turn around 2006/7 when the whole lotus flower fiasco came to be and decided to just enjoy Prince in my own way and not be down heartened by the crap that was going on. Since then I've been making music constantly and particularly in the last few months I've been making funk/prince tinged tracks. I'm still and probably will always be devastated by his death but thought it might be nice to share something I made a while back to commemorate him.

The songs called 'Spread' and celebrates his early sexy funky days. This is coming from a fan at 33 who has worshiped the man since he was about 7. I hope you enjoy fellow orgers.

https://soundcloud.com/na...kes/spread

Sorry to hijack an irrelevant thread but like I say, I can't post new ones as its been so long. Incidentally I liked the SNL special but feel it was a little forced lol.

chrissiesinatra...Thanks for posting your jam. Very cool. At 3:13 it reminded me of the funkier side of Trent Reznor (that's a compliment). The bass synth sounds nice too......(and put $10 in the swear jar!) wink

The way i see it we had to take the good (prince jamming out) with the bad.(the skits) And jimmy asked prince to come up...AND HE DID... Did anyone mention that at the end people didn't know if he was meaning for them to grab the guitar or not.

Damn... Beautiful, Loved and Blessed.

Originally, I was geeked to finally get a good version of Electric Chair performed live. But this track from 3121 is becoming my favorite. Originally, 3121 was a 3-track album for me; Black Sweat, The Word and Incense & Candles. But now? Nearly a masterpiece. Fury, Lolita, Love, Get On The Boat, Beautiful, Loved & Blessed, 3121, Te Amo Corazon...

Killed it on every performance. Hoping to hear 'Milk & Honey' now, my first wish for Prince-produced work for other artists.
