Sometimes is really relevant right now. As P fans we know what it means and what it is. A miserable day but he is at peace now and his journey is over RIP Prince

I'm shocked and deeply saddened beyond words to hear the heartbreaking news that Prince has passed away. Like MJ, he was a major reason why I love music and there aren't enough platitudes and accolades to describe Prince's greatness and talent. Like everyone else I grew up listening to his music and it becomes a soundtrack to your life. I was hoping P would live a long, long time and teach all the youngin's how to funk, like what George Clinton and James did back in the day. Sadly and unbelievably he's no longer with us. If there's any solace to this news, I hope Prince & Vanity are together again and they are looking down upon us all and telling us not to be too sad. R.I.P. Prince Rogers Nelson you were an inspiration to me and many, many fans all over the world. Your musical legacy transcended genres & will stand the test of the time and generation after generation will become fans of your music. My thoughts, prayers & condolences to Prince's family, friends & fans. We all love U Prince you were the greatest. sad

Prince is larger than life.

We have lost the one person that has brought us together to this place for many many years.

I hope we can continue celebrating his legacy, life and work.

I'm beyond feeling sad; don't know what to say, what to do.

Feeling lost.

Rest In Peace, beautiful, talented human being. Prince.

See you in the Purple Rain.

As unspeakably horrible as this news is, I'm grateful that Prince brought together so many amazing freaks like us and gave our lives such joy and meaning. Most of my best friends are people that I first bonded with over our love of Prince. My heart is with everyone on this board!

Love is the master plan! 💜

I started writing a Prince blog last year fully expecting to have a never ending supply of material from which to draw. But now that well, as deep as it is, certainly has a bottom.

It's a sad, miserable, terrible day.

His music has been a part of my life for so long now it feels like a part of me will always remain empty.

I ended up writing a tribute type thing that I was gonna post here but it ended up being pretty long so I put it up on the blog if anyone is interested (link below).

If you have people you love, make sure you let 'em know.

I too, am shocked and very deeply saddened, coupled with the fact that today would have been my best friend's 48th birthday... He passed away from Cancer last January. . Words cannot express... . It was EXTREMELY odd how I found out: I always keep my iPod on shuffle in my car. On my way to lunch yesterday, the 10 minute version of 'I Would Die 4 U' came on. I remember thinking how I had not heard this one in a long time. Literally as soon as it ended, my wife called me to tell me about Prince. . He inspired me to be a multi-instrumentalist and to write my own songs. Of course, the album I put out was bought by literally nobody, but I still was able to do it because of him. . This year is one of the worst years I can remember. . Love and peace to all, Bob

I can't find the right words. I know I wailed hard yesterday, my pug and my Jack Russell had to come and check me out as i was making noises they never heard me do before.

I watched the news in a daze, went to bed hoping it was all a dream, but sadly not.

I will miss Prince. I thank you man.

Much love to him and everyone here.

My goodness. I am really sick to my stomach. My heart really hurts and my head is numb.

Dug up my external hard disc with all my Prince goodies. This weekend I will take my time to mourn his death and honor his life.

I wish all my fellow fans all the best and strength to cope with this incredible and sudden loss.

I was lucky enough to be a part of the choir at Perth Arena in Australia 8 weeks ago. Tonight the Arena is lit up Purple again. It took me 35 years from when I first heard Controversy to get to see him live.

The one thing I had always wanted to say to him if we met was "Thankyou, your music makes my soul happy."

I woke up 12 hours ago to this sad news. I am so sad and I don't know how to fix it, my happy music was Prince.

We must continue to listen to his message of Peace and Love and strive to achieve it every day.

RIP

The only thing that can dull the pain is the thought of how blessed we were to share the earth with him and the joy that he has brought us all.

At the moment it's just not enough.

The last time I posted here was August of 2009, on the RIP Michael Jackson thread only a month after his death. The commenters were beyond unsympatheic and cruel. I asked them how they would feel if it had been Prince. I know what you are going through, and I can say is hold on. It will get better. I saw Prince live almost as much as I did Michael. I even worked on a few of Princes music videos. My first Prince concert was in West Hollywood at Flippers Roller Disco in 1980 (now replaced by a CVS Pharmacy), and I'll never forget how in awe I was when he stepped out the back door of the venue into the parking lot after putting on an incredible perfomance. Genius...long live Prince.

What an incredible memory and opportunity. Though I wanted to see Prince in his heydays in the 1980s, I wasn't allowed to because my parents said absolutely NOT. However this all changed in 2005 when I had the chance to see the Musicology Tour in Washington, DC. He even performed a tribute to DC's GO Go scene and tore up the Verizon center! I flew to London from NYC in September 2007 to attend the 21 Nights tour which was absolutely fabulous. I had tickets to 2 concerts and 2 aftershows. Mind blowing. If anyone doesn't have the 21 Nights CD that came with the book, get it. That is the music from his after shows. I had the opportunity to go to the "Welcome to America" Tour which had Misty Copeland as the only ballerina on stage. She was breathtaking. Last, I had the opportunity last year to go to his "Hit 'N Run" tour in Washington, DC. He brought Stevie Wonder onto the stage and it was mesmerizing. If you don't have access to any of his CDs, consider signing up for Tidal. Not all of his CDS are on there but it is a great sprinkling of music catalogue.

Be glad and rejoice for the Lord has done marvelous things!

Thank you Mr Nelson.

Your music has helped me immeasurably through the darkest of days, and provided unfathomable inspiration and joy ever since I opened pandora's purple box.

The dedication, inventiveness, tireless innovation, enormous depth, and myriad of intense astounding talent ... all combined in a kaleidoscope in which to paint the journey of my life.

You have given me so much.

I hope we were enough for you.

Peace + b wild, live 4 love, welcome to the dawn,

Neil

I've had my account here for eight years and have only used it to lurk. This day has split my life in two. In the past when other celebrities have died, I would think, 'Thank god it wasn't (so and so)', and Prince was always one of those. It didn't seem morbid because I assumed he would live a very long time.

If nothing else, I'm lucky to be in Minneapolis with my people. We carry a heavy grief but on many shoulders.

This is the only kind of love
That I've been dreaming of
The kind of love that takes over your
Body, mind, and soul
Love to the nines
