Get Well soon Prince - Just how rare is a cancelled concert? Hopefully Prince will be fighting fit again very soon.
Aside from a very early cancellation in his career when he was just starting out, the Croke Park concerts etc, Just how unusual is this cancelled concert? Hopefully all concerned can get to see the show with a recovered Prince soon.

He's had some cancelations over his career for sure, but I think it's pretty rare for him to cancel a performance for health reasons. Coming so soon after him announcing his memoirs, I'm just hoping it's not an indication of anything serious. I'm keeping him in my heart and prayers that it is merely a passing flu. We love you Prince. Hope you feel better soon. Sending healing your way.

Didn't he cancel a show in Concord, CA. because he tripped over a monitor or something and sprang his ankle? Or did the show go on with him just sitting down while singing? Late 90's or early 2000's? klick | |

I think what you might be referring to is a show I was in attendance for in Atlantic City, New Jersey around 1999. Chaka Khan opened, so the show should have have followed not long after her 1998 Come 2 My House album had dropped. I heard/read later that there was a leak of water on the stage. Chaka slipped and fell during her song. Prince slipped, did not fall, but I read shortly thereafter he had sprained his ankle. I do vaguely recall he had to cancel a number of shows after. | |

Shame. Sometimes it snows in April. Can't sing though with the flu. There will be a lot of sad fans but I presume they'll find a new date. And to think after the 'despite influenza the planet is priceless " tweet, many of us thought he meant the ills of the planet. 😊 language can be so ambiguous! Get well soon Prince. He had played in the Paris club. Always a weird feeling then. I do hope one day this magnificent tour will come to EU. Yes! My city was one of them on my B-Day the next day. Of course the Dj's joked that Chaka Khan fell on him..  will ALWAYS think of  like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. | |

The wife and I had to find out by getting out of the car at the hotel across the street from the Fox...The wife asked the valet why Prince's name is not on the marquee. He says it's cancelled and we think he is joking. Then I check my e-mail...oh well, people get sick. We are still lucky to have tix. Hope he's well soon. Nope.. I was there He didnt sit at the 1998 new power tourconcord show, he said something on stage about... He was gonna cancel but thank God for novacaine His set was bearly 70 something minutes

i hope he is feeling better, poor dear. it's been kinda damp and chilly here in minneapolis. hope he is someplace warm.The flu sucks and is a major drag! I hope he takes good 'n plenty time to get much rest before scheduling/rescheduling anything at all. It takes a lot of energy to command a stage. | |
