Well, I did not see this before, and they call it their 'new Tidal Shop":

Tidal now has a download shop where you can buy some of the exclusive Purple Picks like Stare and If Eye Could Get Ur Attention (MP3 or Flac)!

I think I'll get them now before P changes his mind biggrin

FINALLY! I need that

OK, converted to AAC outside itunes, then it worked.

You must have bought the lossless FLAC files. iTunes doesn't play FLAC. The MP3 files from TIDAL work fine with iTunes, no conversion needed.

I'm wondering if The Chocolate Invasion, Slaughterhouse and Xpectation FLAC files are true FLAC? Meaning, are the sourced from "CD-quality" files?

I can never tell the difference between FLAC and a high quality mp3, FlAC is a waste of money for me.

For me as well. Did the tidal audio test last week and couldn't tell any difference..

Ah, so another step (aside from the appointment of a new CEO from Soundcloud) of TIDAL becoming a self-contained distribution platform, streaming AND retail. The industry is really going to go for Jay Z's neck now.

Honestly though, I suspect it's a desperate attempt to add value. Subscriber numbers may not be growing as fast as they projected.

Some of these tracks are rather expensive -

Extraloveable in flac - £4.98

The Chocolate Invasion / C-Note / Xpectation / The Slaughterhouse - all £17.98

It's not going to be cheap to finally get all this stuff in CD quality.

The industry buzz is that it's less about desperation and more about setting the stage for a Rihanna exclusive.

What's the bitrate on the MP3s? Just deciding whether or not to pony up for FLAC files.

Diamonds & Pearls is also on Tidal in High Def, FLAC file which can be converted into Apple Lossless as well to work seemlessly on iTunes/Ipod/iPhone in High Def.

I've gone a little nuts, but I just bought and downloaded in FLAC:

The War $2.98

Slaughterhouse $17.99

The Chocolate Invasion $17.99

C Note $17.99

If Eye Could Get Ur Attention $2.98

Stare $2.98

Xpectation $17.99

Total $80.99

Everything else in the Tidal Store I already bought when they were officially released through record stores, or downloads, etc. I did get a cassette of The War back in the 90s, it was some sort of promotional thing if I recall, but it is nice to have the download. It's really cool to have these officially available for purchase, at long last!

I'm in binge mode tonight, it's like rediscovering this music all over again

17,99 for chocolate invasion and slaughterhouse is too much. I still have the original mp3's from 2001 without the edits and the extra sound effects. I also have the new 2004 versions. so that's enough for me.

Can't figure it out. Get to the end, and it just shows the track with a box to verify payment info and nothing else. Where's the link? Do they send a link? Email? How do yu actually download the track? Help...

Somebody? Anybody? Mine was just click, click, click.

I had the same issue. Then it said it couldn't verify my card. But when I went to my bank website, I saw it was in the process of charging my credit card.

I wrote Tidal and asked for my credit card info to be removed. They said the charge didn't go through, but this was too much work for two songs. I'll just wait. I didn't like how that transaction was happening.

I use Paypal so that I don't have to continually worry about credit card information. Its so much less hassle.

Change it one more time..

I figured it out finally. It wasn't allowing me to purchase using my existing Tiday login info. had to essentially log in using my Twitter account. Then it allowed me to download the tracks I wanted just fine. Thanks for checking though...smile

MP3 is $1.29 if you want to save $$$$$$$$

I chose to get the FLAC quality, my own preference

Same with the albums, $9.99 for MP3 if you so want

I'd buy more music if it were available
