Translation: this is yet another brainfart, we've still gotta ask WBR about this, by announcing this now we're trying to shame them into releasing this pile of junk we couldn't even be arsed to think up a good title for.
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!!! Bart never lets us down!!
Prince could cure cancer and Bart would find something to complain about that. I can see it now - "Just like Prince to put thousands of oncologists and radiologists out of work. What a wanker." LOL.

If HardRockLover and The X's FAce are any indication of the new sound, I'm all on board. I liked AOA and PE a lot and the new stuff seems to be expanding on the basic structure of the sound. Joshua being on board is a huge plus.
Looking forward to it. |

Bearing in mind they spent a year and a half talking about Plectrum Electrum before it came out, if something very solid isn't announced in the next week I'd forget it. |

Unfortunately, that also suggests that this album might be digital only. At least initially. I hope I'm wrong about that last part because I'm fairly new to Prince's music and this would be the first newly released album of his I would buy. And I'd much prefer to go into a shop and buy a physical copy on CD. I'm probably over thinking it (first time for everything ) but I'd be a little disappointed if this turns out to be true. For a first-timer, I don't think you're doing that bad. I remember the thrill of buying a new LP back in the days, buying it in the shop, carrying it in a bag, worrying it will get stuck in the front wheel of your bicycle, finally getting it home in one piece, taking it out of the sleeve, seeing it for the first time, just looking at that damn black vinyl thing, then slowly letting the needle hit the groove and let the music come... Show me any digital download that has that same feeling! This is why vinyl is coming back and any artist who doesn't recognize this is an idiot! Anyway, it's great that young people are still discovering Prince! |

Funkenberry just tweeted:
The NEW album is entitled "HITNRUN"
.
So no "The Hit & Run" just "HITNRUN" as 1 word ala HARDROCKLOVER & PLECTRUMELECTRUM tracks. |

You're cute when your reading comprehension is poor. But hey, I do have a serious question:
Can you name 5 songs Prince recorded from, say, 2001 forward that you think are good? I'm genuinely curious to know.

Gotta love the Org: Prince signs a deal with Kobalt, nothing happens for SIX MONTHS (ghee, I wonder why? Lemme guess: they refused to sink time and money in some third-rate rubbish they knew he wasn't going to promote -- hence Prince trying to peddle the album to other parties by taking an out of the blue promo trip to the UK) and then he signs a deal with WBR (who did NOT agree to release the 3EG record) and poof, WBR is the cause PlecElec didn't get released in late 2013. © Bart Van Hemelen

true, but also look at what they said when he signed the Kobalt deal:
“This new venture gives PRINCE the flexibility and freedom he’s always sought in a label partner. We’re providing a high level of diverse services that will be particularly customized to his vision for each release, allowing the world to experience more music from PRINCE and his creative community"
jaysus, and we got almost nothing from it. And that was an official announcement! Don't get me wrong though, i'm hoping for a new album as soon as everyone else |

Don't forget the smell of fresh vinyl out of the sleeve and the thrill of looking at the art work and reading the liner notes. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I agree. Implies (to me anyway) that it may be one of those things were we get a tweet notification at like 3:47am stating to go download from iTunes, or stream on Tidal (or wherever he lets his music be accessed from). I kind of have a gut feeling it'll be sometime very, VERY soon. Just a feeling I have... |

I like his current sound so any news is good news.
"Hit&Run" sounds like a 3EG album? Especially with the girls being the ones seemingly "gold experiencing" the promotion i.e. "Prince doesn't want to talk to you, but he's a super-nice person; here's an album you can't buy"...
I was looking forward to "FreeUrself". This sounds like it's going to be the same album (but with Hannah taking the vocal on several tracks) as opposed to another double release? |
