It's exciting....I kinda like it. The phrasing messes it up for me. Phrasing is awkward for me and kinda messes the whole thing up.

This is reminding me of the late-2005 (3121/ Lotusflow3r) sessions. A lttle bit ecelectic, but still very paletable. I'll take an album of this happily!

I'm definitly thinking that this is an edit, it doesn't have that climax that you can feel comming.

Not too fond of the guitar-based rock Prince has been churning out with 3rd Eye Girl lately, but this new track is just soooo damned cool, majestic, rockhard, heavy, passionate, avantgarde, etc. I'm a Prince fan born again.

Abysmal production, a blatant attempt at imitating modern r&b (but "improved" by Prince), pathetic lyrics that seem to have been written by a pubescent boy.

.

So of course the famz label this a masterpiece.

Very interesting song. It's not structured like most songs with a bridge and a chorus but it's catchy and has both experimental and familiar Prince elements to it. I love how eclectic he is with his music, like a box of chocolates.

I love the music but the words don't match the level of the music, like most prince tracks these days. But overall I like it.

...and there was me wondering where was Bart to moan about how shite this was? Right on cue, and with added insults of anyone who dares to like the song. Order is restored to the world.

As for "HARDROCKLOVER" itself, it's alright. Neither a masterpiece or a disaster on first listen, and I think potentially a song that will grow on me. Lyrically, I thought it re-visited the narrator of Bambi, and Prince's tounge was most definitely somewhere in his cheek when writing this....

The vibe on this is cool all day - guitar and bass is killing it, vocals awesome. But man, he needs to write like an adult. Why is EVERYthing at a party and can we lose whip cream and sttrawberries as a fantasy for an adult? It's been a huge issue for him that being so sheltered he cant seem to write from the persepective of an adult. There is STILL hot shit and places you can meet a fine woman that dont have to sound like a 20 year old hanging out. Life experience is hard to come by in a bubble.

Not bad. Far from great. But I wish he could maintain a structure throughout a song.

Where is the hard rock? The title suggests that it's rocking hard, but then it turns out to be just a bland r'n'b song with poor production and just a little guitar. Just like the first version of "guitar" that wasn't rocking at all.
