Ripopgodazippa is the fourth track on the first disc of Prince's 20th album Crystal Ball (his fourth using the name ). Three years before its release, however, the song had been included in the Paul Verhoeven-directed movie Showgirls (along with 319), but the song was not included on the accompanying soundtrack.

Initial tracking took place on 10 October, 1993 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA (the same day as Now and Shy), during the first day of sessions specifically intended for his next album, The Gold Experience. Horn overdubs were added in late October, 1993 (during the same sessions where horn overdubs were added to Right The Wrong).

The track was included as the second track on an untitled early-1994 album (likely an early configuration of The Gold Experience). It was then included as the tenth track (sixth song) on a March, 1994 configuration of The Gold Experience, and was kept as the tenth track (sixth song) on a May, 1994 configuration, as well as the sixth song on a Summer, 1994 configuration. It was removed for the 13 October, 1994 configuration.

In March, 1995, concertgoers at later dates on The Ultimate Live Experience tour received an NPG Records Sampler Experience cassette featuring various clips of "upcoming releases" - Parlor Games was featured, but since this was only a short clip, the track is still considered unreleased. You missed out. It was his 1st indie period after making it big. The material he came out with during this period had some real bite IMO.
