Of the albums, 3 standout, 3121, Lotusflow3r and Art Official Age, there are very few lesser songs on any of these. 3121 is amazing overall, but AOA is my favourite, that was to me Prince's strongest album since The Gold Experience, which is the best non 1980s album of Prince's. Art Official Age is the Sign o the Times and Gold Experience of the 3rd millenium. Lotusflow3r is also an album of exceptional quality.

1+1+1:3= Bible Class City (co-opting a classic to do some ridiculous preaching: sin against his legacy)

FunkNroll (plec): The AOA version is the real future classic in my view.

Love: got none for this elaborate but dull MJ-ish track.

I would add:

Musicology: because it sums up Prince and his music in a catchy way.

Dance 4 Me: I thought it was lazy and forgettable when it came out but now I'm wiser.

Can't vouch for:

All the midnites in the world: anytime Prince has the word "world" in a title, it tends to be more miss than hit, so I approach the track with the utmost caution. In this case, I was so cautious I have yet to listen to it. The same happened with Strays... I have no memory of that song, by brain is obviously protecting me, it's set to "auto-denial".

Personally I don't like Cinnamon Girl at all. What about Black Sweat and Musicology on a best songs list?

I know a lot of folks don't care much for the Planet Earth album, but I really like "The One U Wanna C", "Lion of Judah", and "Chelsea Rodgers". I have always like the organic sound of the album.

Maybe Musicology - the song is a little "formulaic" on the album, but it comes alive when played in concert.

Agreed, that was an outstanding live performance! I like the album version too but that one is much tamer.
