So this is an interesting development. Does it say anywhere if it will be released on Warners? If so then Prince seems to have succeeded in getting Warners to release his music at the rate he originally wanted, the issue that caused the whole dispute with them in the first place. If he has also got his masters back then he seems to have got everything he wanted from Warners without giving them what they wanted, i.e. remasters and out-takes (as far as we know). | |

It sounds okay, but nothing groundbreaking.
The guitar is very familiar and it's probably going to just groove without any real chorus or melody apart from the quirky synth stabs to keep your attention.
Still, it's early days...if he's going in a funk direction then I'm okay with that, and I just hope for a handful of tracks I would want to listen to more than once. "I'm much too hot to be cool" | |
