One of my first. At Radio City, on the Act II Tour, hearing Peach (an unreleased song at the time, which was a big deal for me, as I'd only recently come to NYC as a college freshman). I was in the third last row & that song killed.

Being sandwiched between two hot chicks gyrating their bodies around and against mine when he played "Shhh" in 2011.

Okay, maybe it wasn't that great as it was just so stupidly hot in that place.

26th July 1993, the first date of the new European tour at Birmingham National Indoor Arena.

Watching ahead of me when the music kicks in..the place goes nuts, and my friend nudges me to look up.. There's 'Prince' on a trapeze, coming across the frickin' ceiling and landing on the stage..full metal headgear on. Then he falls!

'That's not Prince' I think to myself..and of course it wasn't. smile That was an abiding memory, pure spectacle.. We shan't see those times again.

2007, Vegas, weekend after the Super Bowl appearance. We had VIP for the aftershow and I was close enough to the man to pick his pocket or pinch his ass. (I did neither - but did sing into his mic at one point.) Sheila was there and played, and Prince did Wasted Kisses (first, last and only time he's ever done it).

It was magical.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Gold Tour, 1995.

The first 5 songs: Endorphin Machine, The Jam, Shhh, DOW, Now. Crowd went wild, jumping up and down like crazy, lots of pushing and getting trampled, a few chicks passed out. Hardcore shit. headbang lol

August 18, 1986. Listening to ATWIAD while looking at a black curtain. Few moments later the curtain falls, and Christopher Tracey's Parade begins.

Paisley Park, November 1999. Love4OneAnother room. Small crowd. Spot near the front. Prince played a fantastic set with tons of classics and even new songs from Rave. They were fucking great in concert. I mean, STELLAR.

Here's the setlist: http://www.princevault.co...r,_1999-am

All good stuff to read. So positive. Ok here's one more from me. Jam of the Year Tour 1997. Buffalo NY. Me and my then girlfriend go to the concert. Decent seats. On the floor about 20-25 rows back. In the middle of the set he starts to sing Do Me Baby. The performance is great. My girlfriend makes her way down towards the stage. The security guard lets her get right up to the stage and I swear he is making eye contact singing to her during this song. She was there and swears by it. After the song she came back to where I was. Then went to an after show appearance at a local club where Prince was hanging out about 10-15 feet from us. But I will share that one after a few more posts from all of you. Keep the moments coming!

.

cool

.

I happened to be in neighbouring Chile at the time, and heard he was playing a one off gig in Buenos Aires in between his Rock in Rio shows.

So I grabbed the first plane out and got to see this short but amazing show.

.

He was in transition between Nude and D&P, so aside from your Hits, we also got to hear new tunes and some Graffitti Bridge tracks.

.

It was my 1st P concert, so it will forever be my BEST concert moment.

wink

Do you know if that's the only time he's played in Argentina?

Please tell me you weren't the one with the whistle, LOL. Every time I hear that show I just want to strangle whoever keeps blowing that dang whistle! Note to the entire world - adding a whistle to a song is always wrong, LOL.

My other favorite moment was on the Tamar tour, at the Houston show. I stood in line for four hours but it paid off, as I was about five feet from Prince all night long. The shredding he did that night was just unbelievable.

Then I got onstage to sing "Play That Funky Music White Boy". Whenever we got to the chorus, I would lean down and hold the mic into the audience, and let someone sing that part. My friends told me that every time I did that, Prince would smile and nod his head like "Yeah, that's cool".

The entire Purple Rain concert at the Nassau Coliseum
March of 1985.. That was Prince at his zenith of success.
I'll never forget the lights going down before that show.
Prince & The Revolution doing the first half of "17 days".
Eddie Murphy making a surprise appearance onstage
mocking Prince.
I was basically a new fan of his & was blown away at
That event.

Los Angeles 2012. I went to a few of his concerts. I was at the concert Whitney Houston was at when she went on stage with Prince. I was in the front general admission area. Only thing is, I was in the back of the stage so I didn't get a really good front view but I could still see her on stage from the side. I was so excited I accidently dropped my drink on the person next to me! Whitney was singing and dancing like a star struck teenager. This was the concert the media claimed that her behavior was odd and Prince banned her from future shows (which was false because Prince released a statement which stated Whitney was not banned). Whitney Houston - the greatest female vocalist in the world - was also a huge Prince fan. She was so happy and excited to be there just like everyone else.

I didn't (never) take a whistle. Dont remember a whistle TBH but dont have a recording of the show and it was nearly 30 years ago! God I am getting old!

One of my other favorite moments was my wife's first Prince concert. She had put up with me and my fandom for the couple years or our marriage, and then the "Lovesexy" tour came to Houston. I took her to it, and I'll never forget looking over during "Purple Rain" and seeing her waving her arms back and forth, singing with the biggest smile I'd ever seen. Awesome!

I always liked the acoustic set from the Musicology tour. It humanized him somehow and was something I've never really see him do before.

Ok here'a another from me. 2004 Musicology Tour Hartford. I had been following what songs he had been playing on this tour. He did his usual stuff but during the acoustic portion he did something very different. I was about 5 rows back from the stage. And there he was singing the song Girl. Just him and a guitar. It was a very stellar moment. Just a rare performance of that song in particular.

I've seen Prince at least 10 times in the last 25 years but my favorite concert moment was Sept, 2012-- Welcome 2 Chicago (first night of 3). It was during the encore performance where fans cheered and waited for at least a half hour until Prince returned to stage for his encore and most of the fans have left but there were hundreds still cheering for him to make another encore-- and he did-- he rode his bike back to the stage and as he passed by I cheered his name and tapped his shoulder while he rode his bike back to the stage. He looked at me and smiled. I'll never forget that moment-- I touched greatness-- my musical idol for the last 30 years. And all this time I am still awe of him! smile
