This is so on point- "fly on the wall." Except I propose that the early take down of social media accounts effectively breaks that aspect of the WB deal. The real kicker being that the removal of social media was intended to take a stand about Ferguson, except no one can figure it out. Now that is Prince.

Because a protest is not a protest if no one except the protester knows about it.

If this is about Ferguson then cite a source. Otherwise you're just offering more speculation as if it is fact.

So far the world is still turning and no one has died as a result of him leaving social media, many of my friends leave facebook and live perfectly normal happy lives. I hope he keeps the music coming though, definitely loving all the new sounds coming out of Paisley Park.

This is just typical Prince playing on his mysteriousness. It's not worth getting caught up in it.
I follow other artists via social media and they manage it so much more professionally and not so weird.

What is Ferguson?

The world is bigger than just the USA.

It is insignificant on your mational level and even more so on a global level.

Please spend time solving the national issues your country still has so many years after abolishing slavery.

It might be in the local news and afterwards everybody keeps doing as they did before today.

Whatever the reason for this, the majority of the public don't really care. Prince is no longer really relavant, in today's music world. Don't get me wrong, he's still loved for his PAST musical career by celebs and ordinary people alike, but Prince is about as played out as wearing bell-bottoms.

That only reveals your ignorance, because you don't know a damn thing about me. Hell, you don't even know me clown! lol, You love Prince. I get it, and you get so butthurt if anyone says anything bad about him. But you make a damn fool of yourself to say "You haven't made it anywhere", we you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Really? Wrong. No disrespect and not to go off topic, but, doesn't sound like you have been paying attention to the mass of support for Ferguson, New York and Cleveland victims. These incidents have gained widespread, national support,, and that support has gone 'global'. As of late, from the U.S. to London, and the Gaza, and then some, (including support from many celebs, athletes and musicians), etc.,) the masses have been showing their support, even through social media outlets. Who is to say if Prince is or is not showing support for the victims in this way? No one knows, but it would not be surprising if Prince is well aware of those types of experiences some of his Black, male relatives or friends, including himself, may have gone through with some form of racial profiling, stereotyping, by some cops or by stop-and-frisk tactics. Anyway it is anyone's guess why he took those pages down.

Prince did touch on racial profiling in a few lines, of his song 'Dreamer', even though that song 'Dreamer' was basically a tribute to Dick Gregory's reference to the racial profiling by cops, many Black youth/men experience in the U.S.. Dick Gregory spoke about that a couple of years ago, at one of the State of the Black Union address, hosted by Tavis Smiley. Ok, so now that you have been informed..back on topic. smile arrow arrow

Really? Wrong. You haven't been paying attention..wake up.

You do not understand 'significance'

Outrage, sorrow, etc in the rest of the world won't solve the issues in the US society.

The US has a problem to solve: there still remains a tad of structural inequality on various levels, related to one's skin color.

The rest of the world won't solve that issue for the US but has affirmation of what the US really is.

Any one of the cases is insignificant, the problem I mentioned is significant.

Prince has not done this in protest. If he has then he is a complete idiot. If you are going to protest something you need to let others know what you are protesting. Otherwise whats the point? It would be like chaining yourself to a lampost and not telling anyone why you are doing it. You would just look like an idiot tied to a lampost.

You responded before I was finished editing/postin, the Page was running slow for me, so had to wait. Anyway, maybe he feels it is better to protest privately? As no one has heard his opinion on Ferguson as other celebs have spoken on it. Not to say he is obligated to do so.
I think if he does comment on it publically, it will open a backlash from some of his fan base. As you know some of his fans don't take too lightly when Prince voices his views on political/socio-economic or racisl issues, or when those views are written in the lyrics of some of his songs. Not all fans feel that way of course.

Or maybe like some folks said, that on some of the 3rdeyegirl pages, around the time if the Ferguson incident, some negative comments were being made? Not sure as I didn't visit those pages often. If that was the reason The pages were taken down, he probably didn't want that kind of negativity flooding 3EG pages, just a guess, is all. shrug

The protests in the U.S. brought out individuals in other countries who could relate to the racial issues in their own countries. It is not a secret that the U.S. has racial/police brutality issues, that need to be resolved, which is why many are waking up to this fact, even moreso since the Ferguson and other incidents. Many Black Americans have been trying to bring these issues to the forefront on a national basis, but wasn't able to, since the 60s, at the level we are witnessing currently, with many non-Blacks involved, as well.

With the exposure of the racial/police brutality in America, reaching others across the globe, it gives many in the international community a realistic view of America; not the utopia many in the international community may have had/have of America.

You can't have a pledge of allegiance that says'...'and justice and liberty for all' when in fact there is not ' justice and liberty for all'. This is a mess America never cleaned up, which is why those problems are ongoing. Race and other societal ills in America are uncomfortable topics for many to discuss. Anyway, no disrespect, but I really don't want to take this thread off-topic. I just wanted to reply to your post. These type of discussions race, politics, historical matters, etc., is usually discussed in the P&R section of this site. Thanks.
