It sounds perfect is how it sounds. For me a definite highlight of an all-around amazing set of shows. This is basically the live prince album I've been waiting for for years.

And you have no idea how long the free release has been floating around, before a larger audience picked it up. (something like 10 months....)

I have no knowledge of who got what from where, but the flyer for the Japan boot says "available November 5 2014".

I know its a lot different when you are there, but listening back, the overuse of horns when he has NPG with him makes so my songs sound pure cabaret. 1999 for example. Its embarrasing how lame it sounds.

I think the NPG nights just sound....lazy. The arrangements are so old, the horns are way over used rather than bring them in when needed and the girls singing is way too much. His "James Brown" type revue is more JB in 1985 than JB in 1969.

I saw JB live in 1991 I think and he was lame, but Prince's horn section in Montreux saved the night for me as I am not a fan of 3rd Eye Girl at all l.

But yeah nearly eveybody else who was there preferred night 3 just because Prince was playing guitar at last .

Night one sounds like a real Big Band concert.

Was also there and I thought Night 3 was the best of the three, hands down. First night was quite fun, second was weakest. Can't wait to hear these and possibly see video (please!)

It sure was surprising, but I saw Prince playing instruments at so many shows before, so it was okay for me. For example I loved him doing Purple Rain dedicated to Claude Nobs. I saw him playing guitar on PR so many times before, but this simple version was the one most outstanding and sincere one I personally watched. And I was very happy that he didn't play these shows with 3rd Eye Girl only but had the horns with him.
