Few songs and Lil tour of some of Paisley Park. This was a free live stream. I was not expecting complete show. The highlight was the previews of the new music and Pretzelbodylogic.
It was balls to go live, they could have recorded and edited down. I'm excited as a fan cuz I think we will be getting more new music in future and what we have confirmed is sounding like tour in works.
What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Judgin by your avi, you love Bruno Mars too. So I'm sitting here wondering why Prince won't even look Bruno's way, so to speak, and work with him too on an album or whatever. Look, that was just so-so but based on some of the negtivity that some of you are showing, would anything short of Prince pulling the full touring band from the Parade era out of his ass been good enough? Yes, the host was a bit of a dimbulb, yes the concert was too short and rather random but damn...such nastiness.

To be honest, I actually liked eveything before that 'performance'. Seeing inside Paisley Park, Prince on the phone, NPGQ etc. Can't believe it was the man himself who was by far the weakest thing about it. Although, it was 3rdEyeGirl that really let him down.

Yahoo billed it as a concert on their website today. Prince sent out a notice to Twin Cities people tonight that it was a concert. Quit defending bullshit.


Billed as LIVE RELEASE PARTY streaming through YAHOO's CONCERT CHANNEL. There was nothing intended for it to be a concert ever. You inferred it so you got disappointed. Not defending BS just pointing out the obvious.




I literally just saw it advertised on Yahoo's site as "Prince LIVE CONCERT." Right on my iPad, computer, and Apple TV.

Wow, it was only a release party folks. I'm afraid you're gonna need to buy concert tickets if you want more. lol

Except for the dingbat hostess it was good. Prince was feeling his oats and gave a nice little free showcase. For those of us who haven't been to Paisley it made me want to go.

I absolutely must have Revelation and Xcess Space soon and I totally enjoyed NPGQ and Liv.



Kendrick Lamar, I could have done without though.

Why does this damn place crash on every major event? sad

The NPGQ sounded fucking incredible. The mix over stream was lovely as well which makes P's performance even more shocking. I can't believe musicians of that calibre were in the other room while Prince made do with 3rdEyeGirl

PRINCE SOUNDS BETTER WITH A BIGGER BAND! Always has. The band he had for the Musicology tour and the one he took to the O2 in 2007. That's the sort of standard you expect when you think of Prince.

NPGQ is New Power Generation Quartet. 4 musicians: Andrew Gouche, John Blackwell, Marcus Anderson and Xavier.

I just gotta say I agree with polo1026, golden parachute and others around here. A little more positivity please. At least the host was real, and kind of funny. Maybe she doesn't know prince like the encyclopedias we have in our brains about him, but she kept it rolling and kept up good repertuare with the audience and interviewees. We got to hear new songs everyone will be bootlegging for days, and we got to hang out live in paisley awhile. We got to see Prince diddle around and do his thing and even got to hear what's my name...something I wouldn't have dreamed of ever hearing live. I'm sure Prince and the gang are still burning the midnight oil. We just got to see the warm up. But I loved what I got to see and I'm damned proud to be a Prince fan right now!

The host reminded me of the host of The Ryde Dyvine TV special back in the day so no surprise on how awkward she was but her lack of knowledge was excruciating for fans.

The song in the acoustic video that sounded like Dylan was fantastic. Need more of that!

The 2 Prince songs that Josh played in the studio were great! B-Sides Please!!

I couldn't give 2 fks about 3rdeyegirl's wardrobe...

NPGQ sounded great but I'd be more interested in them if Prince was playing with them.

Pretzelbodylogic was sloppy and the mix was bad.

What's My Name was unexpected and rocked. Who the hell's Kendrick Sumethinorother?

Thanful & Thoughtful was really good. Glad it wasn't Everyday People. Wish it was a Prince song.

Wish Prince & 3rdeyegirl's set was mixed better and sounded as good as NPGQ's set

Should of been 3 songs from the new albums. That would have made sense. But whatevs.

Worth it for: acoustic song, Revelation(?), The Ex's Face(?). I would buy all 3 of these tracks right this second... if they were for sale.
